What you need to do it your best.. Its better to try and fail, than concede defeat before you even try.. In these games. Do not try to "win".. Try to do as much damage as you can.. Then next time you face the same (or similar) group, youll have something to aim for.. Start by trying to get in a single kill.. Then try and improve that.

Example:

The very first time I fought a TSI premade, the match ended 0/15.. The same happened in the next - oh - 10 matches against them.. Then in one match I got a single kill.. The last time I fought them (albeit with 2 Fleetmates), we had them down by four - null, before they regrouped and started countering our tactics.. Sadly the PUGs we had with us, continued to Zerg them, and the match ended 5/15 IIRC.

The morale, Im by no stretch a great PvP captain, but Ive improved substantially in all the matches Ive played against (and with) them.
Agreed.

I personally love when people decide that there isn't any point to trying and it's always the fault of someone else. If you don't try, it's you who sucked. You can say there is no point if that makes you feel better, but unless you log out to make room for a replacement you are just a leech (still worthless, but slightly better). It's a bunch of whiny ********. People need to get over themselves.

I agree, sticking through the match is what makes players better. Not whining, not complaining, but sticking it out and getting better.

BTW: nice matches today; Lore is the only fleet where the entire team has to run a science team. >_<

so people who can 1 pop are called noobs?

I think it takes a lot of skill to actually one pop something.
Which is beyond noob possibilities.

And i dont think they should change the pvp.
Kicking will be abused.
The team will kick the weakest link, and that weakest link even tho he doesnt go AFK, will never get a round in.

And people go AFK when they see its a losing battle.
When your enemy team has 3x your team's entire DPS on 1 person, im sorry, but that means u go afk, and let them slaughter to finish the game quickier.

Who wants to play a PVP when one side of the team is stacked?

We need a better match server, to match level.
I dun know, keep a track of kills / heals / dps, and somehow arrange it so its even.

But the problem will still arise when you go up against a premade.
And when the premade is a high tier pvp fleet, im sorry, that means i go afk when im with pubs.
I have played many pvp matches, u cannot one pop anyone, atleast i cant be, way to much shields and armor buffs, and i have never seen it and i have played with the best, so if anyone thinks they can there n***bs

Wrong.. Ive critted for more than 90k through a green diaper (AP:A3, AP:O3, AP:B1, sub 10% GDF, TacFleet) with a AP DBB.. The will oneshot pretty much anything but a buffed up cruiser.. A heavy resist stacking cruiser can live through it, I suppose, but I frequently take off 50%+ cruiserhull in a single BOL3 blast critting.

You're wrong there, it is still possible although only a tac officer in an escort/Raptor/tac-BoP has any real chance of pulling it off. The BO3 shot is prone to missing however, which is probably why you don't experience it that much....

remember, when you went after him, at least he pulled away the same amount of firepower from your team as from his own maybe MORE if you are better than dealing damage than him!

you're wrong Venwar, master of "the n00b"! Most people who have met MiniMax 1on1 have been surprised when he disables their shields and tric them for 100k while at the same time robbing them of any means of avoiding it!

Well, I was just in another Capture + Hold PVP match, and one guy pretty much sat there the whole match. When he was confronted about it, below was his reply (his name replaced with ******** to avoid any possible Cryptic forum rules issues):

Quote:
[Zone] Sarah@COMMANDERHAWK: andrew do you seriously plan on just sitting there the entire time and not do anything ?

[Zone] ********************: just watching south park

[Zone] Sharen@Shar487: still has no business here

[Zone] Desperado@Xemorph: XD

[Zone] Sarah@COMMANDERHAWK: well we could use a hand if thats not to much trouble

[Zone] Sharen@Shar487: when someone else actually playing can participate

[Zone] ********************: just here for emblems dont give 2 craps about pvp sorry

[Zone] ********************: and south park is on

[Zone] Sharen@Shar487: still shouldn't be here... we need players, not leeches

[Zone] ********************: whatever

[Zone] Desperado@Xemorph: ^^

[Zone] Desperado@Xemorph: 50k and i kill him XD

[Zone] Sarah@COMMANDERHAWK: granted
So basically this joker sat around AFK the entire match watching South Park, earning free emblems in the process. This isn't the first time I've seen him AFK through matches as well.

Does anyone else seem even remotely bothered by this? Cryptic seriously has to make participation a requirement for extra emblems if they don't want AFK'ing to be a pvp standard.

I'll post the screen shots here if people demand proof of the above.

You can

Seriously picture it, I'm just floating around minding my own business in my Voq and then BAM no time to react, dead. Even with a pure heal/resist build if they throw a tykens or drop my shield first and then do their thing I'm still either dead or have lost a shield facing and am down to 20% hull. An attack like that on pretty much any other ship = one hit dead.

It's pretty funny though, in my Voq it's only one extreme or the other, team can't do a dent or I'm dead within 2 seconds.

At first we didnt really chase him, we merely killed his teammates and went to a contested cappoint.. When our team were comfortably in front (1195 / 600) it became a sport to chase him..

I mean, seriously.. In a situation where his team were outnumbering my team (3-2 f.eks), he would run whenever his hull started taking damage (I mean, 10% hull damage)..

He was not bad at doing damage, at the end of the match he had some 400k damage, while my teams 3 best had 920k, 870k and 830k damage.. Considering he was running for half the match, it is very likely that he would have matched those scores.. Had he stayed and fought, its also very likely that our team *wouldnt* have been able to take the points so easily.

I realize that C&H is not about kills or damage, but if you can tie up the opponent forces in "pointless" fights away from the cappoints (preferably fighting outnumbered), the rest of your team can take the points uncontested.
