I found this while looking at ask cryptic, and I need to know What are STFs? I really want to be able to get these borg items, but I don't know where I would start when season 3 comes out (when does it come out by the way?) Is there a level requirement for this specific borg stuff? I am a Lt Commander, should I even bother?
This is the quoted text:
"Dstahl: We will be introducing an item set in the Season 3 release. These items are new special rewards for completing the STFs. These items are thematic Borg components that when equipped on your ship not only provide the stat bonus with the set, but with each item you slot, unique Borg FX and GEO is added to your ship model (we expect this to work with almost all ships). The concept comes from Voyager where they added specific Borg tech to their ship in order to survive specific encounters in the Gamma Quadrant. They look pretty cool. Here’s a screenshot of an Escort enhanced with these items."
Wht, is infected the one where you get the borg starship components?
There are only 4 STF missions, and only 3 of them involve the borg. Most likely, you will only need to complete these 3 to get the reward: Infected, The Cure, Khitomer Accord. They are part of a story arc so you have to complete the first one (Infected), before being able to get the next one. These borg components are definitely a step in the right direction for making the rewards for these STF's better.

I never said it only takes an hour the first time through. Only that it takes ME (and my fleet mates) about an hour to do. We often take fleet members who have just reached RA5 through the mission. For them, it is their first time, and we usually get it done in about the same amount of time. It's all about the team. Pugging of course will take longer, and often times just plain fails to complete. My advice to the OP is that if you want to eventually run these STF's, find a fleet that runs them routinely, and join up. Teaming up with some consistent people adds a whole new dimension to this game if you are used to just soloing, not just for the STF's but the regular missions as well.
