I saw some images on the non Klingon ships, the orion, nausican and gorn, and the vorcha refit, but what happeded to the D7 refit? Also what are the tiers and class of these ships, BO layouts, weapon layouts, etc.
I just dont get what takes so long to model a ship from a group of professionals, and get it in game. The Vorcha refit and a D7 refit should be super easy, the skins and models exist already, change the stats of the ship and the weapon/ bo slots, tweak some texture files, and bam, here you go. A D7 refit would be awesome for tier 5, great great ship.
I can see the new designs taking longer but really, the feds have gotten so many new ships and the kdf nothing but that hideous looking carrier, I just dont understand.
You're not alone with this.
The ships were pushed from "around the end of August if not sooner" back six weeks and now "sometime during the Devidian Series".
But no specs, nothing.
I'm still waiting on the final ship specs but here's what I can share so far...
(from the ship designer)
* Gorn Ship is a Science Vessel. Similar to the Federation Deep Space Science Vessel.
* Orion Ship is a Cruiser, similar to the Federation Star Cruiser.
* Nausican ship is a little special. I call it a siege Raider. Its similar to the Federation Feet Escort.
* Tier 5 B'Rel is a Tier 5 Retrofit B'Rel Raider.
* Tier 5 Vorcha Retrofit is similar to the Federation Assault Cruiser.
With the exception of the T5 Vorcha Retrofit, they will all have a special ability.

The time it takes to design the new ships would be fairly short, depending on what other projects they are working on. But what eats up most of the time is the codeing of the ship, as well as dealing with any glitches that pop up once it is all put together.
I don't get why people get thinking that it is so easy to buld this stuff, like all the Devs have to do is push a couple of buttons and bam they are done.

This however falls dead on its arse when the vor'cha is already in game with the glitches ironed out and the modelling done.
