I can tell you, the last thing Kim would want would be for her straight friends to, in anyway, feel unwelcome or excluded from her. She would also hate feeling in any way unequal to them. Segregation even with good intentions is still segregation
This seems like a fairly stupid idea. The 25th century would not require such a thing, since there is ample evidence in many novels/spinoffs that segregation between homosexuals and heterosexuals is null.
Also, if we did put one in, for what purpose? What could you do/RP there that you can't just do in Club 47?
I will admit, my statement makes the primarily Vulcan crewed ships like the T'Kumbra and Hera and even the earlier Intrepid rather odd. Considering the Intrepid was a Constitution-class starship capable of crewing over 400 people, and the Hera and T'Kumbra had similar, if not larger compliments, I have to wonder how Starfleet managed to staff an all Vulcan-ship - unless Starfleet's got a lot of Vulcans in service, or the majority of the ships' crews are civilians, which another question in and of itself (especially with the Dominion War-era T'Kumbra).
