Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
I used to just use the Maintain option, but now I'm wanting to strategize a little (whoa, big step). I've switched to the option that cancels auto-attack on "non-combat." It's working as I expected where as long as I'm in combat mode, my character will auto-attack anything in range, but after leaving combat mode, auto-attack will turn itself off, so that the next time an enemy is in range, my character won't just open up, he'll wait for my command.
BUT...
More so in space, when an enemy is in range (near the 10km mark), and I press the spacebar, or the 1 key, or even click on the weapon, my ship won't attack. It won't actually attack until the enemy is closer to the 8km range. I'm not sure that's because the enemy attacks first, and then I can retaliate, or if the range is screwed up.
Has anyone else encountered this? Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?
You should be able to attack as soon as you breach 10 km. Try clicking on an individual weapon array or check your binds to make sure the buttons are doing what you want them to do.
