Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
I don't see what that has to do with ship imbalance.
Anyway, if it's just me and four random pugs on Fed side we still manage to annihilate the Klingons - including you, on occasion. I must be Michael ****ing Jordan then, huh?
i'm no all star player like you Yak, not at all, but I'm just saying that people who play this game mostly for the PVP, are probably going to be better at PVP than people who mostly play PVE. I have never in 5 months of play beaten TSI or S31 EVER in a PVP match. I'm happy to score 1 kill against the elite fleets. but i work hard at getting better every day, & someday i will be that good.it's a goal of mine.( i know, i need a life)
It certainly is the popular opinion that Klinks are overpowered, but the same thing that makes people bad players (or at least less good) also makes them believe that the imbalance is in the game and not themselves. I'm not even talking about Klinks having to team up because most have been doing it for a while and know their part in the fight whether they help others with heals, focused fire, or just knowing when to leave before they pop.
You do better against most Feds for the same reason that I do against most Feds. It's not that the game favors us over them, it's that odds are we are going to face people who aren't as PvP oriented as we are. So when we fly our Fed alts there is a good chance that we are going to be on our own, so to speak. If you fly Fed PuG you know all the reasons that it can fail from failure to team up to emblem farming and everything in between.
On a side note, this test you propose as proof is utter garbage. Klinks with Fed alts do it everyday. I also love the rational of "if no one does it that proves I'm right by default".
[Edit] I think the Yak might want to look a little closer at AmIdoinitright's first post here because I feel like the reaction is a little off. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it was taken the wrong way.

Can I have an autograph?

Amen to that!
I die all the time and have seen whole klink terams wiped out. You feds are not weak or underpowered at all.

Ok I originally read it as sarcasm. Sorry if that wasn't your intention, Bot Fly.
Sorry steve, i dissagree i very rarely jion a kling team thatactaullys issues any order or tactics just plyed one now as a kling every one seemed to go thier own way we won easily! and guess what where as before the majority of ships were bops (and we still won !) now most klinks are using carriers, and once more thier fighter attack you out of the carriers range! i was20km in a fed ship from them tryin to heal and they chased me and kept firing so it was difficult to heal to 100% meanwhile some time after i got away and fighters stayed on me guess what BOP decloaks knowing he has the support of the fighters whose mother ship is 20km away come on man, its not mentallity its just plain simple the klings have an advantage, i dont want play as a kling knowing that the chances of winning are like 95% no matter who is on my team! and as a fed knowing that no matter how good we are we will lose. For feds to win they have to be a very well drilled team who have a plan, and excute it to perfection, for kling to win you just show up in a kling ship and count that its hard for for the feds to excute any well drilled plan.
The reason you don't see a lot of chatter on klink teams is that there is really no need. There are some simple rules that are understood on the klink side.
1. focus fire. If you are the only one shooting at a target, its time to change fast and find the engaged target.
2. The order of targets goes without saying, no need to waste time typing in a pug: escorts, sci, then cruiser.
3. always switch back to the escorts when they repop. Don't keep chasing a cruiser.
4. Always watch your team for the off chance that the feds are focusing for heals
All of this is done on the klink side, with little to no communication. We used to talk a lot in the early days, now it all just goes without saying. In fact in most capture and hold pvp, klinks don't even usually group up, but are still able to work together just like they were in a team together.
In groups where everyone understands these basics you get the 15/0 games. A weaker team the closer it gets to even.
The rarity is the good fed pug. They do happen. When the feds are organized or have a good pre-made they are devestating. If one side or the other is OP, I would say its the feds. If the feds have a good team it is really hard for us klinks to win.
Also everyone who posts always thinks of themselves as either pretty good to excellent when it comes to pvp, but I can tell you from months of experience on the klink side, that it is very easy to tell when the feds have a good team, and how deadly they are when they work together.
Yet still we have people trying to claim it's all down to the players and nothing to do with the abilities of the ship classes involved. Especially as this claim comes from predominatly Klingon players (oh but i have a fed toon) and a few federation players on pre-made teams.
I see someone say that if there is a ship inbalance its in favour of the Federation. Maybe it is, if you try to compare like for like and base stats, but that ignores where the real issue is. As the OP said, and as i've been saying for quite some time now, the advantages of cloaking, and particularly of battle cloaking is having a serious effect on the game. The BOP is without a shadow of a doubt the best ship in this game. High Speed, hi manouverability, battle cloaking, universal BO slots, heavy fire power, its pretty much the perfect ship.
Carriers have a big impact on the game as well. Post patch they were like flying bunkers, sitting there dominating an area and providing support through extra fire power and healing abilities. Now, with the increase in NPC ships it can put out, its ludicrous. Ok these ships dont do a vast amount of damage on their own, but 20, 40, 60 of them. You cant ignore that many and you cant afford to waste time shooting them. They clog up screens, makes it very very difficult to target an actual players ship (not to mention the lag it causes for everyone).
Balance doesnt mean identical ships and abilities, it means that both sides have a fighting chance and that's just not the case. Carriers are not overpowered, they just have an unfortunate game mechanic that isn't beneficial to the game as a whole. Raptors and Cruisers, paper stats have these at a disadvantage against Federation escorts and cruisers but the cloaking ability is far more beneficial than a few points on the hull and shields. I doubt there is any Federation player who wouldnt swap 'advantages'. The BoP. Hugley overpowered. Incredible offensive and defensive capabilities. It's no wonder people are seeing strings of 15-0 losses.
Im not interested in the pug's-vs-premade arguments. Yes, premads are superior and you will do better if you are in one, but all mmo's need to cater first and foremost for the pug, because thats the majority of your customer base.
There are other problems with PVP that exaggerate the advantages and dissadvantages. Damage and Healing output is too high across the board. We've just seen RSP scaled back and rightly so, but no one should ever be able to kill you in a few seconds. Give people a chance to actually play the game. Like wise, no one should be able to hold off indefinately fire from 5 ships (which ive seen carriers do)
