The background behind human salutes is the knight opening his helmet so that the two could see each other. Klingons might have done the same in the ancient pasts where they were still wearing heavier armors.
A Klingon salute is of the "right hand placed against the chest" variety. This is something that really ought to be in for Klingons. Might even be easy to put in, though I don't know what all is involved in creating character movement...still, it would be a pretty simple set of movements.
More like bump your right fist against the middle of your chest, with the back of your hand directed away from the chest.
Captain Klaa did this in Star Trek V.
Is it me, or there is no Klingon Salute in STO? It's just wrong to give a human salute to another Klingon.
Well, it doesn't surprise me there isn't a Klingon salute..I mean you see it..well, sort of in ST V when the guido lookin' klink captain salutes Kirk in the lounge at the end of the movie...but i think that is covered under a different emote...
