It appears that the Patrol remote contacts are giving the missions out in reverse order; this being indicated by the end reward level, e.g.: Argus Genstra; was given a mission with a Mk VI reward as soon as he hit my contact list yet the last Patrol (some 3 sector patrols later and 1 Rank on the character) I'm being offered Mk IV rewards.

This has happened across all my characters post season 2 it seems and I only raise it as a QoL issue because it is counter intuitive, at least to me.

Any ideas?

Was the patrol mission you did was designed for a lower rank? IIRC, if the mission was given to you at LtC6 - LtC10, it'll have Mk IV equipment as the reward, even if you did it whilst a commander.

No, I hadn't 'outlevelled' the missions as you seem to describe, in my example I had only moved 1 rank up but the rewards went 2 levels backwards
