This is one of the FEW times they're not doing a 3AM - 5 AM (PDT) maintenence cycle; and it is during East Coast U.S. 'primetime'; yet see - you STILL see someone somewhere QQing (and most likely this situation was caused by the patch server issues yesterday; and HAD the Patchserver setup been 100% we probably would have seen this patch applied last night in a 'normal' '3AM - 5AM' cycle; but given what this patch fixes; they want it up and Live, so U.S. players can patch tonight, instead of patching tomorrow during the weekend (especially with a new featured series running and Episode #2 going online at 11 AM PDT Saturday.)

Yes, this has already been resolved.

An hour and a half notice, though, is a little on the short side, though. (IMO)

(I'm not worried about it, because I didn't really plan on playing again until tomorrow's Weekly Episode aired. I do feel sorry for the Europeans who are playing today, though.)
I understand that some people are frustrated by this late notice for the patch. However, we need to get this release in to ensure everything is ready for the next weekly episode, and to get the C-store releases in that were promised. We were unable to do this maintenance at the normal time due to our patch server difficulties yesterday.

Thanks again for your understanding.

9.30pm GMT

Dinner - check
Bottle of wine - check
Girlfriend out of the house - check
Star Trek - darn....

Still, I'd rather prefer an update now than on the weekend. It leaves the weekend for uninterrupted play whatever the time, so I'm happy.

Now I'm hoping this patch addresses the Exchange and the Star Cluster.... a man can dream.

It is rather annoying, but I guess it is during the middle of the working day for all those US subscribers. Besides. Have you not noticed most patches come out last thing on a Friday. i.e. Mr Stahl says 'you aint goin home till this is finished' to his staff I will wager. In this regard I would support him

This whole operation is akin to the old days of 'live' TV. Part of the excitement was that things did not allways go acording to scedule. I find it exciting that the game is not perfect and that there are glitches.

Rather off topic, but I noticed your ship name once or twice while playing and I wondered if it had anything to do with the WOTW album. Now I know it did, one of my favorite albums (yes ALBUMS! We had albums and cassettes back then) of ALL TIME!

Glad to see you got it resolved and seeing as this patch is comin right after the difficulties this would be the main "emergency" patch for it. :p
