If you look at the way it is broken out it really is not F2P as much as it is a super extended demo. Even if STO would go F2P, which it is not, it would be fair to reason that model would be mimicked. That means STO would actually have a honest to goodness demo. Sadly those who would want F2P just would not get it. They wold get a demo, and that is it.

It's quite a bit more involved then that. The only mission content not offered in CO's F2P model is the Adventure Pack content. Other then that F2P members only lose out on customization options not content options. Going from 1 to 40's a lot more then a demo.
