For the past month or so, I've started seeing ships fly through the Sirius Sector at much faster speeds than I can attain. While I do understand that my Warp speeds on LtCmdr tier vessels won't be as fast as those of higher ranks.. what I've been seeing exceeds that expectation.

When these ships fly by, they tend to have a sort of "tube" around their ship. It's obviously some kind of power they're using.. but they tend to shoot by so fast that I can't get a lock on them to ask them HOW they're doing it.

What is this special power they're using to go faster in Sector Space.. and how would I go about getting such a power? Is it tied to a ship? a certain rank? or is it some special device I should be looking for?

You get a Quantum Slipstream power as Upper Rear Admiral, IIRC. (Not sure which level exact, maybe 48?) Maybe it's even Vice Admiral...

If you want to have it, You'll have to ear a few more skill points, I am afraid.

It is Quantum Slipstream Drive, you get it at Vice Admiral 1.

Thats why they call it space.......cause there's a lot of it!
