Apart from very slightly better handling a defiant refit is the same as a raptor.
The only reason they do sometimes seem good is the players that are brave enough to fly one in a pug have got the GURUMBA to use it well.

And there is the crux of the matter.

"Right player piloting"

All ships are good, if you know how to pilot it.. Some are easier to learn and more forgiving, which is why many people fly cruisers and carriers.. They simply cannot make the transition to a escort for example, because they get ***** every time they try..

Believe it or not, the BOP is really not anything special *before* that "right player" is in it..

Its all about each individual ships potential and ease of getting used to.. Currently Carriers and Cruisers have great potential, and are relatively easy to get used to (thus most people fly them).. Its only natural

Its roughly 50/50.. Either the escort captain is a joke (newbie), or really REALLY dangerous .. In both cases, the obvious response is to hit the escort first

This is true....seriously I had to make a new toon just to learn how to fly the thing, going from a carrier to a BoP and you just oversteer all the time

I spent pretty much all day today playing pvp on my fed VA for a change just to see how things are on the blue side.

Now I have a fed VA and 2 Klingon LG's and my preference is playing Klingons but after gettiing a bit annoyed at the the Kligs are OP'd threads I though I'd give the other side a go .

Played both arena's and CnH and came out i rekon about 35%/65% (win/loss) and yep we won some by a huge margin (like 15/0 wins in arena).
I'm not going to call the lack of grouping from feds as an issue as Klingon PUG's tend not to either but what i did notice is most feds are geared up for attack with little defense and they very rarely share heals of any kind regardless of the situation - not accusing the entire faction here just saying what i saw today. My fed VA is a tac in an assault cruiser and by far was the biggest healer (and dps) in about 90% of the arena and CnH scenarios that i played. I'm not sure if thats because I was just getting focus fired or not but considering the amount of scenarios played I didnt actually do that much healing of others coz i was a bit busy keeping myself alive. Just for the record my fed tac officer build and ship is designed to shut down carrier spam while tanking a bit and dosnt do to bad on BoP's either, but i digress.

What i did notice for the first time is the graphic lag now in pvp - there is too much in the way of mines and the carrier type vessels spam too many fighters/support vessels - I actually died several times because my comp froze for a second and I couldnt activate my skills. Why I've never noticed it before from the Klingon side i dont know but it was horrendous.

Ok I'll get to the point:

Feds need a better introduction to pvp at a much earlier rank to prepare them for end game pvp and team play. There are far too many defiant clones running about that try and solo a pvp arena.
Something defo needs doing about the graphic lag from carrier and mine spam
Are Klingons overpowered - No but the they play better together as a team (most of the time)
And oh yeah my last pet peeve - Klingons trash talking - you dont help the situation, I've added about 10 to my ignore list today for pointless and, well the only word for it is ingame trolling.

Wow...really? and people thought I complained much....
KDF people are not OP...they simply have to level using PVP and combat, so it's something they are good at...not the usual go around and scan certain things and such the feds do.

Honestly, it takes learning tactics and making sure you are spec'd for PVP...you aren't going to be kick @## on the ground and in space for PVE and kick it for PVP...honestly....

This is a long dead horse, and I shot it again to make sure it was dead....
