This was posted in the ask cryptic section.

Is there any plan to make Escorts more desirable in PVP right now some PVP guilds (Fed side not sure about Klingon side) won't let a Escort fly in there non pug games because there survivability is something less then to be desired.



WTH What fleets do this? Ya escourts are the easy kill in the game with bop and raptors but not to allowa escourt, bop or raptor in a premade is pointless no other ships in the game can match spike damg and sometimes that is what is needed in the fight.

I definately agree. Even though -TSI- tends to fly cruiser heavy builds we wouldn't actually bar them from playing in the fleet.

Zorena described that differently - for Premade Matches at least. For PuGing I've seen to use relatively different compositions, the few times I could observe things. Maybe it was a subjectice perception thing and not an official policy?

As I've said in private, I didn't think it would make it to the forums is that TSI runs Cruiserdps/ Healer/sciboats for tournaments, I don't want or think anyone should read that much into it other then, what everyone already knows.

Official fleet policy is just a word to me that means nothing in tsi we are just a bunch of pvpers/people/players who say what we think is the best setup etc..

official fleet policy is that we run whoever is on at the time. Most of the time it's dps cruisers / healboats / science.

I have been saying for a while that escorts have been screwed.
Their DPS is continually decreased while defenses have increased.

The problem is escorts dont have much defense. Sure with a good team and a dedicated healer they do great but no one wants to heal anyone but themselves these days. Its easier to pick a cruiser and know you can take a pounding then it is to take an escort and have to rely on others to keep you alive.

Thats not to say a good group of escorts with a few sci officers can't be strong its just that against criusers and carriers the only way to take them down is as a team where as any cruiser or carrier can take an escort the only recourse they have is to run away.

We also dont use BOP or Raptor in premades. Too easy to pop. Premades throw around heavy damage and healing... Not enough hull in a BOP or Raptor to allow survivability under 100k/sec damage numbers. Great for pugging tho.

Well whats the purpose of hiding something already most of ous know, "dps cruiser" have same dmgpotential threw out a fight that an escort have. Have better heals (for his team) is more resiliant to dmg (beffer for team), and have additional utility stuff. eject warp plasma/sci team/scramble.

The cruiser does infact have less burst but with healing being this good and its unlimited never runs out only cds need to refresh.

When I made my "escort" into a resist stacking idiot, and removed all "fun stuff" like tractor and such. It still deal less dmg (maybe I suck huh?) then one of my fleetleaders dps cruiser, if i get snb'ed then my "true" hull value is less, and self buffing resists is not a great way to be a team asset.

Resist Escort.
