It is currently 4 am here and ive spent many hours testing these ships with fleet mates. I must say its great progress and the ships (especially the Gorn vessel, <3) 'look' complete. The B'rel is fun but a little tricky, still looking for the right tactics. The Gorn ship is what we've been needing, a (mostly) maneuverable, dedicated sci vessel. the Repair Platform ability is interesting but the drones are horridly flimsy and pop faster than voquv fighters/repdrones and dont seem to heal as often as they should. The turn rate also seems a little slow, dont know how it compares to say the DSSV turn rate. The Orion vessel is basically a Star Cruiser when it comes to abilities which isn't too bad, but I havent had much of a chance to test it, getting tired Its special ability, looks cool but doesnt seem to be of much use, for now. It's a really cool idea but seems to lack oompf. I realize the ships are still in testing so im not overly concerned. when the complete vessels get rolled out, the Klingon faction should be closer to balance content wise.

Some are recommending a pure "support" build for the B'rel and while this would work it means (at least in PvP) that you end up adding almost 0 damage to your team. While there are a number of ships out there intended to be support ships they all can help add damage to their side by participating in sustained focus fired on a target. The B'rel refit really can't do this since if it fires a torp or mine (and even some offensive science abilities) it decloaks and is vulnerable for the period. If you simple delcoak and fire (not risking the short period of exposure) you are simply just another BoP with less hull.

Testing the B'rel with friends I've found it useful to pop EPtS while firing during cloak. But personally I dont plan on firing while cloaked in PvP unless I find myself 1on1 and my oponent has less than 10% hull left. I plan on flying my B'Rel just like I fly my Hegh'ta...hit hard and run if I'm in danger...the added bonus is now I can heal while I'm cloaked...oh my the possibilities

Which is kind of my point, while fighting you are just a normal T5 Bop, you just can heal out of combat now, which means you are not adding dps to the team while you are doing this. So it is a give and take. I by no means have had the chance to test all of the abilities, so one or two may need to be tweaked to be unusable or at least cause you to drop out of cloak, but by and large this ship is not a huge threat to be reckoned with in PvP.

I dont know I like them both just the way they are...I say leave both the Hegh'ta and the B'Rel Refit as is because they are 2 different ships with different pros and cons...the new B'Rel doesnt make the Hegh'ta obsolete. Instead the Devs need to focus on getting the Nausicaan Raider finished and fixing these other two ships. To me the BOP's are fine.

by the way I see your from Dallas/Ft. worth...I'm southwest of you in Abilene Tx.

Oh I'm not arguing that they need to be changed, though I've always believed that the hull on the BoP needs a boost given that it gives up one BO slot for what it gets.

My point was more that the B'rel refit is well balanced because if you want to use it as a dpser you don't really get to take advantage of its enhanced cloak, so it is not the "I win button" that so many are QQing about.

Nice to see another Texan, there are a few of us around here and number in the KDF I believe. I'm actually in Virginia at the moment for family reasons.

While I agree with you about the hull boost in my personal opinion our escorts are way better than the Feds...my Klingon character is my main character that I've been playing since release, and I also have a alt Fed character at VA which I've noticed is rare for some reason to have a character LvL caped on both factions. Anyways I'm just not as comfortable in my Fed escorts they seem so weak and like they are missing something to make them feel unique. I have a thread going in the Escort Starship Yard calling for a Refit Akira because the Feds really need a true Escort...I feel sorry for them. And no the new B'Rel is not an "I win button" at all...just makes me a little more proficient ...the decrease in hull, and Sci slots are big handicaps in PvP to offset the ability to heal while cloaked, which if you captain this ship you will be doing alot of trust me

I can't give any opinion on the ships as for some reason I have to be LG to get one but as an MG I can't. Guess I am over qualified.

Did you get new refit tokens from the console in front of the ship store Bekk? The character I tested with is Lt. G and was able to purchase these once I got the new tokens.

Sigh. I wish that they would let you boost a captain to max level so that I can test the new ships. Unfortunately, my highest level Klingon is only Lt Commander.
