# 1 Respec cost

Perhaps I'm in the minority on this but I happen to think the respec cost at VA, once you've used the available tokens, is a bit high. I don't see why there cannot be a system in place similar to WoW where we pay a reasonable amount for a respec, and then that amount increases slightly (everytime a respec is performed) should we want to respec again within a certain time frame.

Reducing the cost of a respec would, at least in my case, lead to much more experimentation with builds and such. Surely that would be a good thing for the game?

I agree with this as well. 30K merit points is way too much. Right now I have switched to a different type of torps and would like to respec so I put skill points on those specific torps...but it's gonna cost me 30K merit points just to do that? Yikes! At VA, it's gonna take a while of doing dailies and weekly episodes to build up that many merit points.

I would like to see them cheaper, especially considering how much fun it is to try out new things, but I assume the cost is so high to push more people to the C-Store. You can patiently farm the points, or spend cash.

Personally i think Respecs need to be taken down from the C-Store and made A LOT cheaper in STO.

Sure, they may loose a small revenue but i think its more important as IMO it would improve the gameplay experience a lot.
People would be more willing to experiment if a respec only cost say 3000 merits rather than 30000.

The whole idea is retarded in the first place, i mean what other MMO forces you to either pay or grind for days, maybe even weeks just to get a respec/retrait?

I agree totally but I'd suggest it cost more like 5k merits.

It would be nice if the costs calculated based on what you actually change. My last respec all I did was move 7 points from Assault Cruiser into Star Cruiser, the rest of the build stayed the same, yet I still had to pay the full price.

I think 30k is ok if you change a whole lot of skillpoints around, however, moving only a few points from here to there shouldn't be that expensive.

I concur with the general opinions expressed. While I dont mind it in the store I think it is a way overpriced. It should half of the current cost and in game the cost should be dropped to about 5K or 10K at most.

The respec system should be free if this isnt made free then merits needed to have an extra respec should be harshly reduced ..

Respecs shouldn't be free, but the cost should definitely be reduced.
