Lets not even go into trying to target a raptor or BoP in the middle of that mess if you are not lagged to -40FPS

Sadly niether do I, but until a good correction for PF, TFS and the carrier pets is forthcoming and acceptible by all parties - what can we do? I'll continue to FvK , drink and be merry in my time spent with friends shooting others.

If enough people abandon FvK, maybe someone at Cryptic will fire the dimwit who keeps coming up with the idea of putting more ship pets into PvP. ;p

I don't know if abandoning pvp altogether is the answer. I am going to be coming back, win or lose because I enjoy the sport of it. Occasionally you hit a group that isn't a pre-made, and pvp becomes really fun.

Today I started wondering if I should be targeting all of the gorn cruisers and science ships or their pets. The ships themselves are built to tank, and I am in an escort. Is it even worthwhile to kill the multitude of tiny ships their spawning?

Not my point. My point is that not everyone has a Supar-dee-dupar video card that can handle the load, and the *dipstick* who thought it would be a good idea to throw MORE spam into PvP didn't account for not everyone not being able to upgrade their video cards, be it because of moeny, or the video cards are built into the laptops' system boards.

Yes, I'm furious. It's as bad as the one million asteriods surrounding a populated planets in the explore clusters. The ones that, for some odd reason, never annihalated the poor schlubs on the planet below.

EDIT: One of the Devs also had the nerve to comment for me to post on the boards this evening if I thought something was OPed. I guess they really don't care how screwed up they made the game. After all, how long has this been an issue? Since they reworked how carriers spawn pets?

to be honest, Klingons Carriers need a lot of pets to make them strong ships.

however with the arrival of the gorn science ship- i have hung my defiant retro up into a hangar, and have gone back to beamboating, since all i have copped since it came out was dead shields. dead shields on an escort means a dead escort if your a tactical captain

i agree, all this spamming is lagging my pc out...its bad enough that u go against 4 carriers and get 30 npc' but now its insane...i click powers 10-20 times and it takes 10 sec for them to activate...this lag is out of control...klingons want ships, let them have it, they want npc's go ahead...but infinate npc's and having klingon players lag players on purpose to get kills is not even worth playing anymore

The cruiser and SV pets seem a lot weaker than carrier pets, so I wouldn't really worry about them. In an escort you might want to use CSV occasionally to clear the spam, but stay focussed on your main target.

Generally speaking, you'd fight the new ships as if they were a SC and a DSSV. They are not easy kills, and generally take a team effort including offensive science (to stun and/or debuff shields) to kill. On the plus side the Patrol Cruiser is very little offensive threat, and the SV isn't as easily used for offense as RSVs, Intrepid-Rs, or BoPs.

I do wish the special abilities didn't involve pets, but despite the pets those two ships are basically the same as their Fed counterparts. Cryptic really needs to reduce the number of NPCs in PvP.
