Possibly with the advent of more pet deploying vessels in the game now, the Devs will work on something to give the pets a "mastermind" control scheme. Fewer pets of each class possibly with individual , grouped by class and whole group control. Including seperate target assingment and individual deployment options that don't require having to open my ship UI and swap icons on the fly. Possibly a carrying capacity deployables that can be used up to its maximum.
Each deployable could be given a Cubic Meter rating and said rating would be subtracted from the deployment capacity and new pets can be added to the inventory until said capacity is full or not suffiecient to be used.

I personally like the idea of carriers and the interceptors and stuff. But people start to "abuse" the fact, it will decrease performance a lot. I've seen too many carriers lately, equipped with like 3 mine launchers, spamming their fighters, PF and a million mines. There's no way you can engage anything properly and fighting with like 3fps starts to become a handicap -_-

While I love Carrier I do agree there needs to be something done. However I don't think the addition of the Gorn and Orion ships are really doing that much to add to the issue here. The Vo'Quv spawns ferociously every 30 sec while the Orion ship pops out 5-6(I forget which) ships every 3 min. They seem about as tough as the To'Duj fighters, so with just 6 of them they aren't lasting that long in PvP. Any sorta AoE or B:FaW, of just casual Tab-Fire-Tab clears them up faster then a summer cold. I haven't played the Gorn ships so no comment on that.

A revamp on carrier pets may be needed. I would support a design similiar to the "mastermind" pets of CoX. fewer pets to deploy, but more versatility and control of said pets.

i would be nice if we could spawn less amount, yet have more control.

Ie. Assign way points, have them enter hanger when we want, have them deploy on OUR WHIM.

But reduce the amount of pets by 1/3, at the price of giving us more control of the toys.

Its annoying have a set launch time, and also having to recall everything when u dont want them recalled.

Also toy's weapon class should be based on your captains weapon mastery.
Not be generic. :\

I wish they would change this aspect on ground turrets even.

Or if cryptic would like to mess us carriers up...
Have launching cost Energy Credits... and you get Energy Credits back as they rehanger.

This would make people think twice in spawning things at masses.
