"Login failed for unknown reason" error
Missing additional character slot for current/ lapsed Gold Members
Slow patching in the launcher
A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
I guess Valias just mixed "Aux to Structural" and "Aux to Dampeners" up.
Nah, I was going by what I read here, here and in the forums on threads like this one. Maybe it's just out of date. Neither of my characters use this ability, and last time I read the popup was so long ago I forgot.

Thanks for clearing that up guys.
If you ever worried that you turn too slow, and you didn't know what to do with your Lt. Engineering slot.. check it out. It's awesome.
I'm a huge fan of Shuttle Craft in the series. I would love to see how Starfleet Carriers could make use of different shuttles like the Type Nines, Runabouts, and even the heavy Delta Flyer type.
Also, I personally play pure PvE and am really looking for more complexity in the late game. I feel that ship inventory needs to get much more in depth as the game matures and a "pet user" ship would be great for that. I really don't want to level a character in a PvP faction just to get to that gameplay.
Wait, you guys want to counter Klingon carrier spam with... *Starfleet* carrier spam?!? Do you pro Fed carrier guys even uderstand that would lead to MORE lag issue, not LESS? Logic escapes thee. -.-
And a BO less. Given the carrier's turn rate and weapon slots, the LtCdr Tac is not that useful - only makes the carrier more of an annoyance by adding its inflexible arsenal to the ongoing battle. Its most important asset remain the fighters.
A carriar doesn't truely loss a BO slot it just redirects that power to another LtCom Slot. And I don't believe the LtCom Tact slot is useless. Granted abilities like the highyield 3 and dual heavy cannon rapid fire is not very efficient. you still can slot rank 3 overload, subsystem targeting, FaW, and turrent rapid fire which aren't worthless.
As for the openers request for a fed carrier I don't completely agree. I don't want to see a full on carrier but a part carrier I don't have any problem with.
My main issue with carrier's is that the tools to kill carrier pets aren't effecient enough. What I mean by effecient is that the time it takes to kill a pet to its respawn cooldown. In most cases your spend more time killing a pet spawn and will have little too no time to attack the carrier before the second. A single scatter volley with omega 3 is barely strong enough to kill fighters and will only partially weaken a BoP. FaW is too random to be effective. Torpedoe spread is a joke. tyken's rift and gravity well take too long to cooldown. EWP is to location based and won't always work.
Hypothetically if it takes a single escort's full time to manage the mobs it effectively negates the escort from the fight leaving the carrier to have free reign to dps/support allies while the other team is out a strong DPS class.

The current mechanics for "pets" won't really satisfy your need for complexity. Particularly for PvE, you'll probably be very disappointed. YOur pets do most of the work and you are just idly using self-heals and cycling your weapons. I experimented only shortly with the Carrier, but I found it boring.

Attack Pattern Delta should be a great choice - more tanking, and once the enemy tries to engage you, your allies will have it easier to stop them.
I personally think that with the "pet-buff", the Lt.Cmdr Tac should be reduced to Lt. and a ensign Science Bo should be added. (Ensign Science would still give some nice tanking ability, it's a nerf, but not a terrifying destructive one.).
For the lag and targeting spam, cutting the number of pets in half and doubling their survivability could do a lot. Maybe the yalso have to look at their torpedo damage - that's a pretty "hot" topic, since with so many torpedoes around, it s a lot more likely some hit hull then you'd normally expect. Buffing their energy damage and reducing their torpedo damage should yield somewhat fairer results.
But regardless of what they do to carriers, I don't like them and don't want them on the Federation side,
Instead of bringing a carrier to a fight, I would rather be able to summon a defiant or similar small escort to me. One that is persistent, vs the photonic fleet.
Crazy idea, but wouldn't it be more fitting for the federation to have a "combat turret-deployment vehicle"?
There'd be a lot of balancing required, but this seems to:
- give the federation a cool new toy.
- give the klingons something else to worry about.
- does not (necessarily) lead to a million new npcs on the map.
- enforces the idea that the federation are primarily defending their own borders, not building warships to conquer the galaxy, nor are they sending their personnel out to die like flies.
