It carries 30 crew and has an Enhanced Battle Cloak that will allow the ship to fire mines and torpedo weapons and use most Bridge Officer and Captain abilities while cloaked. Im not fighting a ship that can do that . Unless STO gives us the Neutron radiation sniffing torpedos that kirk use to hunt down and kill chang

For the love of..... *Growls annoyedly*

Look, you have so many counters to it that it's hilarious, not to mention the best one of all, that you can alpha strike it when it decloaks for a strike, and it's a B'rel. At Tier 5. Also known as weaksauce of weaksauce hulls. Two escorts will pop one in less than 4 seconds if you hit it when it decloaks.

This is not counting sensor scans, nebbie tachyon arrays, charged particle bursts, photonic shockwaves, venting warp plasma, I can go on, and ON, and ON. Stop moaning, start showing some initiative, and find tactics that work.

Try learning how the enhanced battlecloak works before nay-saying it. Any ability or weapon you use while cloaked with decloak you for 3 seconds minimum, some abilities like hazard emitters decloak you for the entire duration, all the while you have no shields. Its actually bugged at the moment so that even when an ally heals you when you are cloaked their heal decloaks you.

As Richardson says there are plenty of abilities that can be used to drag someone out of cloak and with the B'rel popping out of cloak everytime it wants to do more than sit and watch it should be easier to find and pull out of cloak than regular cloaked ships.

No. This ship is horrid. Allied heals decloak it. It has 3k fewer hp than a normal BoP to boot!

If you can't deal with this ship then I don't know what to tell you. It's less effective than the existing tier 5 BoP.

What you should be more concerned about is the Orion Cruiser. That thing is nasty.

You have nothing to fear as its not the OP thing that others have lead you to believe. Put down the Koolaid and go see for your self. Roll a Klingon toon.
As a side note the Seeker Torpedo from the movies sniffed out the plasma trail left by the CHangs BOP's impulse engones in combat, so as a consequence of such a tracking system- it would stand to reason that EWP be a massive seeker torpedo attractor? Or is that thinking to far ahead in anti-seeker torpedo tactics?

Yup the fight's already over, you should just hand over earth now. Seriously though, go make a klingon & try it before you cry fowl. That ship has the lowest hp of all the Tier 5s in the game right now.

With the current implementation, you've got nothing to worry. Except maybe to wonder how many torps you can fit on your ship so you can kill the B'rel as they fly around shieldlesss as fast as possible.

Assuming the ENchanced Battle CLoak will be fixed to a more sensible level... Well, then it will be more sensible.

You get a 3 second window everytime they use anything "interesting" that would affect the battle - be it dropping torps or heals or whatever. So just look out - the ship will remain without shields the entire time.

Also, remember the cloak counters that exist in this game.
- Sensor Scan. Only Science Captains have this one, so you might not have them in your team. But it's good.
- Emenergency Power to Auxillary. Raises your "Stealth Sight". Can help you locate cloaked vessels if they aren't too far away. If the B'rel plans to drop heals or torps, it won't be that far away.
- High Aux Power in general improves your ships abilty to detect cloaked vessels. Healers and Science Vessels will often run High Aux setupts.
- Advanced Heavy Cruiser Tachyon detection Grid. You need a Nebula for this (Duh). It helps everyone in the team.
- Charged Particle Burst. Everything within 5km loses a ton of shields (For Bird of Preys, it can be _all_ of them easily.) and knocks out cloak.
- Photonic Shockwave. Stuns ships within 3km, dropping cloak and also negating the enemies ability to react to your fire for 3 seconds. Requires you to make a good "guess" whether a ship is nearby - but you might also catch someone accidentally while trying to knock out someone else.
- Tractor Beam Repulsors hit all targets in range, even if they are jamming you or cloaked.
- Tracor Beam. If you hit a cloaked ship or a temporarily cloaked ship with Tractor Beam, it can't cloak for the duration. Ideal for when a B'rel (or any cloaked vessel) decloaks for a short time to make an attack and you don't have the firepower yourself to take it down. (If only because Beam Overload or High Yield Torpedo is on cooldown).

As you see on the list, a lot of the counters are Science related. That's why Klingons hate and fear Science Vessels. It disrupts their entire strategy and hits them where it hurts the most. Provided you actually work together in a team, even 1 Science Vessel can be too much for them to handle (depending on player skill involved and how much they rely on Battlecloaking ships, regualr BoPs or a hypothetical non-sucky B'Rel Retrofit). More makes things worse.

If you have none of these powers on your ship, that might be okay. Probably someone else has. But if no in your entire team has it... Maybe it's time to look at your spare BOs and reslot, and check if you don't know a Science Vessel Captain if you aren't one yourself and try to team up with him a little more...

Nooooooooooooooooo

Not the dread Shields and Hull argument.

Your sooo right, your Shields and Hull make you soooooooooo weak Crytic should give you even more stuff. How about a gensis torpedo? or perhaps a pet Crystaline entity? ooh ooh I know, how about a voyager I win button. (eject warp core, blow everything up and then convientely find a travelling vender who just happens to have a spare warp core)

Q'apla!

I propose that the Defiant-R be equipped with this enhanced battle cloak. Then give them all Universal slots. Then nerf its hull identically to the BoP.

Please do this, so that I can stop reading complaints of this nature.
