I apologize if this has been posted somewhere, but I wasn't able to find any info by searching here or on The Google.

Is there a command similar to /examine? I'd really like to be able to view what a ship/person looks like without running around it/them and moving my camera like a crazy man. If there is such a command, that's awesome. If there isn't yet, what's the deal?

There is no such function/ability.

I have never understood why this is. Part of a game were we are all encouraged to gear up and earn stuff is to show off what we achieve and accomplish. Since accolades are also private (when you earn them especially) its just beyond my belief that you can't inspect another player to see their items, or their medals etc

That's one of the things I miss from Vanguard.

You could look up somebody by their name on the game website and see all their stuff, if they'd set it up to allow you to do so.
