i think the proton rifles chaining is a bit over the top. i once hit an entire enemy group (pve mind you) and nearly wiped them all out with one shot.

Currently on trible the proton rifle has had a fairly significant DPS nerf (from the 47 down to 30dps)

yup it will basically be an upgraded split beam rifle as it can hit more targets, looks like back to dual snipers and actually playing as a team again which is a good thing since a lot of us have gotten sloppy due to the power of that rifle in its current state.

Now setting up "traps" around it probably not as awesome (ie sticking the pattern enhancer in places the opposition will have to walk through and just waiting to hit 2) possibly still funny.

Well, the enhancers still have the proton vulnerability don't they? So it'd still be a peachy little move.
