I'm getting sick and tired of this. (specifically in FvK matches)
I'm sorry to rant, but this has got to end sooner than later, or it will perpetuate in to something much worse for STO.


People are either AFK, or they are not even participating in FED vs KDF matches.

This morning I have been playing FvK Cap & Hold on my Fed toons (which I have been playing more of since all I ever hear these days is how Over Powered KDF is), and over 1/2 the team in each case is just sitting at the Fed spawn point, not even moving.

These players are on my ignore list, so Devs, feel free to look at my new additions for names.
These players are making comments such as "Thanks for the coin(emblem)" and "I'm not even moving from the spawn point".

Devs, you are killing PvP by allowing this to happen

KDF vs FED is fairly balanced. The single largest factor is that so many Federation players refuse to work as a team, and use tactics more specific to fighting KDF ships.


So please, before you go trying to "balance" FED vs KDF, consider this.

1. Players who are AFK (do not enter the perimeter of a Capture Point, stay Cloaked/MESd, or simply don't move/respawn after death) should be banned from queuing for that particular PvP match for a 30 minutes time frame (which would have a cool down similar to Transwarp in that it is only counted when logged in to the game).

2. If possible, look at coming up with a figure which would be the minimum required Damage and/or Healing based on the Team averages (from players with scores higher than say 20,000 in either), and only players meeting this requirement would receive credit for the match.
Basically, if you say you need to get 25% of your Team's Damage/Healing, and the average healing done was 100,000 and average damage was 200,000, then one would need to get 25,000 healing or 50,000 damage in order to receive credit for the match.

*edit* Damage done to NPC "pets" would also need to be calculated, as would Shield Damage done by Tachyon Beam and Charged Particle Burst (think those are the only two that aren't currently counted)

Agreed - This practice should be dealt with harshly - After all, they are ruining other players experience.

I am all for them doing something to help get these people either involved in pvp or stop them from getting into the que because they are ruining the game for the rest of the players on both sides. Not sure what the best solution to it is but itdefinately needs to have some attention from Cryptic.

Being AFK in PvP matches... I would declare that griefing, to be honest. It's hurting other pepoles enjoyment of the game.

It really is just plain ********. No one, on either side, needs this kind of person wasting time and space. No one forces them to queue, they do so by choice, so the least they could do is try.

I agree. Just last night we had a 3v3 Fed v Fed match and one of our players went afk upon his first death. He stayed gone until he finally AFKed out of the match. We held in there until we were down 13-1. Finally somebody came in to even up the score and we made a come back and won 13-15.

But this is getting extremely annoying when people afk out like that or simply run and hide. People like that should be reported, then banned from ever entering a PvP Match again.

No it isnt, hence why a lot of people dont want to play. They feel its a waste of time. Whether you agree or not is irrelevant, Its how THEY feel. Alot of feds have given up playing arena and in Capture and Hold, they play for the combat rather than for the win.

I agree that something should be done about people who dont attempt to play, but dont dismiss the reasons why they wont as unimportant.

I agree. I dont see the point in qeueing up then doing nothing, unless the enemy is spawn camping then I cant be arsed. Whats the point in getting emblems if your not actually going to do anything anyway ?

After the hit and run pounding you laid yesterday I'm very confused about how you can continually insist that the faction you smeared is overpowered. But since that's not the point of this thread, that doesn't change the fact that people who queue up for it need to try or just stop queuing. That mentality is a larger part of the perceived imbalances, in my opinion.

This is quite annoying. Listening to balance wine when I know this is the stuff that happens in 7/10 matches I do fvk is frustrating. Its not fair to the feds that do play... its not fair to the klingons that are looking for a good match. Its not hard to win when its 10 v 7 all the time in a cap and hold... or 5 vs 3 in an arena.

my Fed cruiser is by the very definition imba.

i dont know if it was intended or not, but my assault cruiser now has 7 phaser retrofit beam arrays and a breen cluster torpedo, and it is extremely hard hitting. the only way to stop me from climbing to the top of the damage dealers in a PvP is to lock me down with killing escorts and science vessels.

as i have offered twice before, i shall offer it again. you have my @handle. PM me and we can arrange for a 1 on 1 and so i can see what your doing wrong to be complaining so much. the only ship i believe needs an adjustment right now is the escort, because it is a nimble bullseye that tries to soak more damage than it can. i only know of a few players who hit and run properly with them, and when they do that, i give chase, thanks to the deuterium surplus

back on topic, i find this annoying, and i have a simple solution: remove the emblems from PvP dailies for the Federation.

its harsh, but theres a bucketload of other ways to get emblems now. remove the emblems form Fed PvP, and the AFKers and emblem collectors will drop drastically
