IF, god forbid, these ever become available for vice admiral, i hope they are by far the weakest tier 5's around, only good for PvE (barely) and nothing else.
Oh, and another thing:

I would have no issue at all with T5 Refits of the TOS Connie and the NX.

That being said, I would also have no issue with these Refits of the Historical ships being locked out of PvP, if it helped make them a reality. That gives people the opportunity to fly their favorite ship and have their own personal adventures, and prevents the PvP crowd from being insulted by the sight of such iconic pieces of Star Trek history.

Problem solved.

Told you that in a few posts time you'd be supporting refits of the Connie and NX, didn't I? It always comes back to these, doesn't it? You can't lock them out of pvp anyway, the people that want this would cry too hard.

Just like people are crying now that a ship they know has no business competing with the new designs isn't up to their expectations.

Cryptic hasn't commented on any of these discussions in any capacity since this argument cropped up months ago. I honestly think they're scared to, or at least have a hands off policy concerning this. No matter what they do, they're going to **** a lot of people off.

My objection to a TOS Connie and NX refit is that they have no place in this game, it's not a Star Trek compilation game, it's a Star Trek game set in the 25th century and there is no good reason why Starfleet would suddenly start building old ships again. I don't mind the tier 0 versions, they're a nice callback to their respective shows but making them more powerful is a stupid idea IMO.

From the C Store:

Quote:
The NX Class Starship Replica sports the classic look of Earth's starships from the 22nd century, but has been updated with modern technology to meet current Starfleet specifications for Lieutenant-rank missions.
This shows us 2 things: past designs can be rebuilt with 25th century technology. Hence, Tier 1 ships are viable in 25th century. It's straight from the developers.

The fact that it is Lieutenant-rank missions seems silly to me, as in those missions, you are destroying battleships and others that "shouldn't happen" in the words of those arguing for realism.

It seems like Cryptic is heading in this direction.

The solution then isn't to add a bunch of BS ancient ships to the game, it's to re-work the low-level enemy squadrons to use low-tier ships.

They added the Hideki to the Cardassian squadrons, which helps.

  1. A Deck Situation Room
  2. C Deck Upper Observation Deck
  3. C Deck Gymnasium
  4. D Deck Decon room
  5. D Deck Guest Quarters
  6. F Deck Lower Observation Deck
  7. G Deck Grapplers
  8. G Deck Guest Quarters
  9. The Kitchen
  10. Around 30 Crew Quarters

So taking all these things into consideration, please explain to me why adding this ship would make the game so horrible that you would want to cancel your sub?
The naysayers have no valid reason to naysay, bottom line. The federation is fighting a shooting war in 5-6 fronts. They need to crank out simple proven designs. Quality through quantity, it works.

What's next, Zefram Cochrane's phoenix?

I honestly couldn't care less. It's going to be a starter ship that someone is going to use for 3 days in this easy to level game.

You won't spend enough time in it to even appreciate the interior.

And galleys were a simple proven design for over 2 millenia, but no one in WW2 thought it was a good idea to bring them back. Funny that. I suppose they could've upgraded them, given them engines, some better sails, guns, but then it wouldn't be a galley any more, so they'd call it something else, like 'Akira' or 'Excalibur'. Those are some pretty good names for re-imagined versions of older ships.

I am baffled by the fact that you all wish to discuss this.

It is going to be a starter ship. Whether you are pro or con NX the devs are putting it in.

It will be used for 3 days and eventually everyone will delete it from their ship cue to make room for some new retrofit.

The space shuttle perhaps.

Yes, send in the galleys! Ramming speed! Here we go again with the old boat anology. I have an idea let's take pre-WW2 ships, retrofit them and use them in battle in a current conflict.........oh wait.

Haters ganno hate I tell ya.
