When they beefed up the pets they did not tone down the carriers......any competant carrier captain will target an escort Capt while he is playing nice with the pets and debuff/weaken him. Leaving him/her to run off to avoid annihlation or go poof.


Leave the pets to the cruisers who create a line of support with heals and destroying pets. Once the pets die then the cruisers can go full tilt boogey on the carriers until they spawn more pets.


Most, that i come across, cruiser captains are no great players though......it is a fall back ship/class for those who want to solo pvp. Like i always said....watching cruisers pvp is like watching old people fight..


I see it all the time.......5v5 pvp and there is 3 cruisers and they head off to do whatever they want and ignore the team..

The amount of time I pvp is far beyond emblems....it is driving me insane to have to be part of this garbage......
The garbage is being forced to to TEAM in a game where teaming is not mandatory nor is it necessary until the late stages of the game.

You are honestly saying that you can't alpha a pet BoP?

Also, I stopped flying a carrier because when I was in it TSI took my lunchmoney. I really wanted one your OP carriers because against a competent team it was decidedly UP.

Again, you really can't alpha a pet BoP? This is not rhetorical or meant as an insult, just trying to get an idea of why our opinions are so very different.

Carriers are easy to kill mostly... GO fast GO hard... and you will win.

Go Slow... Circle and shoot another facing for some reason... Install beams on your escort... well then you loose.

Carriers are not at all over powered. I have been playing my fed escorts the last week... and carriers die just as fast as any other cruiser / Sci Ship. Can I solo 3 carriers... or a carrier and 4 bops. Hell NO... so you guys are all right there Broken. One on One Not many carriers are a match for one of my escorts... this is a team game however. Yes the carrier won't be alone go figure.

In my Sci/Defiant if I decloak on the aft of a carrier as he is releasing his pets then even C:SV1 will completely wipe that first round out. Even a pet BoP is going to be dead or dying since they direct their shield power to the forward facing all the time. The carrier itself will already be hurting a little bit (I only pack so much of a punch) but with a bit of healing support and a well timed Sub Nuc, or even someone else with a clue about burst damage, that carrier has a good chance of going down. Once you thin out the pets, the focus fire mechanics that work on cruisers and science ships are just as effective, if not more so, because of the carriers turning. Add a tractor beam and jebus...

Like anything, this doesn't work all of the time. For a good Carrier it requires teamwork or a fair amount of luck. Obviously the Carrier can use teamwork and luck too but managing the pets goes a long way towards neutralizing some of their threat.

I'm also not saying that there are no issues. Clearly there are. But this is what we have to work with and it's not even close to broken enough that it ruins my own PVP experience.

I would like you to answer one question for me (again no insult or mockery / just curiosity)
Have you actively flown any fed escorts at the VA level in a pug or premade vs a carrier heavy klingon team?

I run Mk11 purple dual heavy Tetryon cannons 3 of em up front with one Tric purple Mk X on my Def R, and to answer your question while i can chew up a pet BOP in the first strike to almost 25 percent of its life, remember these things have 26k hp or so + shields?, it will take another strike to kill it off because i donot want to waste my tric on a pet. But in that time that I am chasing around BOPs, what do you think the klink team is doing?

What are they other Klink players suppossed to be doing, while you attack the carrier pets?

Better questions;
Did you (as a team) decide on a anti-carrier tactic and assign roles for all team members to follow?
What is the rest of your team doing while you attack the carrier pets as the anti-pet eliminator?

taking out spam is normally a waist of time... there are very few carriers out there who can withstand a good Defiant R alpha... i emphasize good. when I see a carrier when I am flying my tac I just get a smile on my face and think.... big target.... YAY! if you cant pop them in a defiant then you are just doin something wrong oh and... leave killing spam to the cruisers with Fire at will they do a much better job I do want to say though... attacking pets should count in the damage totals. IMHO
