So i know everyone is going to say there not op . but all this week im am seeing all sci officer teams. I cant blame them. you get a snb photonic fleet. thos ablitys on all five guys in your group. well kicks but. Prob is now that everyone is doing it. So what can cryptic do to fix it? If it stays they way it is now. Everyone is going to have a sci officer in there fav type of ship. I dont want it to come to that but what can you do or does anyone else see this trend. Tacts now hamper the team unstead of helping.

The thing to do is to nerf SNB a bit. It should probably either a) buff strip; or b) increase cooldowns, but not both. As it is, if you plan to do any kind of hardcore PVP, you'd be a fool not to run a Sci, because SNB is pretty much the best class ability in the game.

I run a Tac/BoP and do pretty well in pvp.

Yes science teams are nasty but im not sure nerfing SNB again would fix things and I don't even use it.

You will always have FOTM Ban wagon PvPers who will always play whatever is best. Nerf Science, next you will see everyone playing Engineers until they are nerfed, then they will play Tac until it is nerfed. Then we will be right back to square one again...Science.

Ban wagon players will always play what's best.

Have you any idea how many times science has been nerfed? We get the bat'o'nerf pretty much every major patch. Yet we soldier on and still everyone calls us overpowered....

I don't feel so. I like my Engineer's special ability. Great survivability.

I think the classes are relatively fine in space. If anything is weakest, it might be Tac - but not in its "own" ship, the Escort, and probably not even in a Cruiser, but in a Science Vessel. Engineers can at least fix the SVs energy problems and significantly increase its survivability, but tactical skills don't seem to help at all. Which is also a problem of the currently effective SV build - weapon fire is generally not the primary concern...

In a premade i dont really see the need for an engineer. I'd much rather have 3 sci and 2 tacs.
Engineers don't really give anything to the group with their innate abilities. Admittedly neitehr do tacs but they can do a poop load of burst dps unlike an engy.

Obviously i am talking from a KDF point of view but i think what i am saying counts for both sides.

the idea of science being overpowered is a novel one. yes 5 science can be deadly but so can 5 of anything.

cryptic should do nothing because there is nothing wrong with science. if 5 or so random people decide to randomly pick science then so be it. its not much different to having 5 cruisers you cant take down, or 5 carriers and having massive carrier spam, or 5 escorts and having one awesome alpha strike that the first guy they hit having no chance of surviving.

its fine.

the officer themselves are perfectly fine, its when you stick them in a ship that things get screwy.

engineerings in escorts- med-high damage, med survival
engineers in cruisers- high damage, high-very high survival
engineers in science low-med damage, med-high survival

tactical in escort- high-very high damage, low-med survival
tactical in cruiser- high damage, medium survival
tactical in science- medium damage, medium survival

science in escorts- medioum-high damage, low survival
science in cruisers- medium damage, high survival
science in science- low damage, high survival

i think thats the generalized feel for each class in in ship type.
