  • Reduces Plasma Damage to Shields by 30%

Shield Capacity and Regeneration on a T5 cruiser with no skill points in Cruiser skills.

Set 2: Autonomous Regeneration Sequencer
  • 25% Chance, When Receiving All Damage, 2% chance of applying Autonomous Regeneration Sequencer
  • +75% Hit Points over 15 sec
  • Reduces Damage to Hull by x% for 15 sec

Set 3: Multi-Regenerative Shield Array
  • 25% chance: When receiving All Damage, 5% chance of applying Multi-Regenerative Shield Array
  • 1500 Shield Regeneration applied once to each facing
  • 5280 Shield Regeneration over 15 sec to each facing
  • Reduces Damage to Shields by 15% for 15 sec

Set 4: Assimilated Tractor Beam
  • Toggle (10 max)
  • Targets Foe
  • 5 km range
  • 0.83 sec activate
  • 4 min recharge
  • to target:21 kinetic damage (2.1 DPS)
  • Reduces turn rate and flight speed for 10 sec
  • to target: -9 All Power Settings
  • Disables Cloak
  • to self: After 3 sec, +9 all Power Settings

Doom! I tell, you DOOOOM. We will be assimilated and our technological and biological distinctiveness will be added to the Collective.

I am not a fan of the energy level bonuses. If they ditch or reduce that, the items will probably be fine. The set bonuses are okay in my opinion. We just have to change our baseline assumption a little - this won't be the last set item we'll see.
If anything, they could make the power level bonus via a sklll bonus - +10 to one of the related Efficiency skills. That's fine with me.

I think the only thing I don't like about the Tractor Beam is that it really shows how worthless Energy Siphon as a power is... They slapped the power on, and the only real worry we would have is that it might pose a problem for BoPs and Escorts if everyone has a Tractor Beam.

To get the Tractor Beam, then players have to take a deflector array and shield that may not be the best for their setup. Besides in a T5 Cruiser, Covariant Shields Mk 10 [Cap]x3 gives about 8500 HP and 130 regeneration compared to 5250 HP and 220 regeneration of the Borg Shield. There is also the problem of players requiring to complete the STFs to get it and some think it is UGLY. So it will be as imbalanced as the Galaxy X for PvP.

You can turn off the visuals for the Borg stuff. Which I think most people will because I imagine that it will just be a big target.

And yeah, with the trade-offs someone would have to make to get that tractor beam, I'm not too worried.

I wont be using this stuff, except perhaps the console.. The stats are not all that interesting for my ships.. 14 speed on the engine.. Pfft.. I much prefer the 17 speed off my Hyper-Impulse

Now, the green Borgglow will be the hallmark of the newbies, much like the green glow of the RSP

(That said, Ill probably get these parts, if nothing else, for the sake of having them )

call me an idiot but what does

25% chance: When receiving All Damage, 5% chance of applying Multi-Regenerative Shield Array

mean? do you have a 25% chance to proc a heal or a 5% chance to proc a heal, still with the 3pc set bonus that could amount to a lot of healing for free

all of those will be mandatory for pvp.

The engines, deflecter and the console are decent enough on their own, the shields are good enough to not suck and in the face of those set bonusses....

Mandatory?

I Think you are overestimating these parts.. The deflector is crap, the shield is crap, the engine is crap... By All means, fit your ship with these, and Ill laugh when I outrun you with my 225 badge of exploration engine with 17 speed (escort)

As for powerlevels... How mandatory are the mk4 efficient engines really? (answer: not at All - they are a liability for most ships )
