I've found that you cannot have an officer be shown, you instead see an image of the ship. You then have to add a popup for the officer who should be able to be shown for the ship contact. Or am I simply doing this wrong?

There's definitely a way to get the portrait of the office you want to talk to on a ship. I think it's somewhere under a costume for the ship.

You can definitely set the costume of the ship to be a person (or ground costume) I believe it's the fourth or fifth selection among the NPC contact attributes.

Oh I figured that out. Simply changed the costume of the ship to what you want when you put they talk to contack makrer in your story line. In the story line editor (as opposed to the map) you can select the ship as the contact but under the costume tabe choose anything you want. worked well for me.

Yes I figured this out afterward, but now I have them as the display for the ship sending a message, followed by an actual popup for said officer directly talking to you.
