Call me an Obsessed fan but this is without a doubt my favorite fan designed ship ever. I would love for it to be considered Canon..... Or Soft Canon. Just to have 1701 on it would make me jump with joy.

I like this one better. I'm almost tempted to contact the person who made it and ask them to join the contest.

Also. HI! =]

That music is terrible, and no thanks to a Sov/Intrepid lovechild.

From what I hear, the creator isn't going to put up that design for the contest, because he believes in free-usage.

Never really been a fan of that ship because it's too massive (not lengthwise but thickness).

I dunno, looks like the illegitimate love child of an Excelsior and a Sovereign. It's chunky in all the wrong places.

I love the century class, hate that excalibur class. Just a little too big to me.

I'm not a fan of flat designs even though I acknowledge them as the trend.

Which is why my design I'm working up rebels somewhat against the flattening trend but has a design rationale to do so.

So aspects will move towards the flattening out (you just can't deny that trend) but I have a special feature of the ship's design that moves it away from the flat look, as something that's clearly a part of this class of ship.

If it works out, you'll see two classes of ship starting to emerge and my design will be the overlap where the two classes are effectively docked together, to give that feeling of a separate hull cylinder.

Similar to how the Galaxy had a detachable saucer, my design has a detachable hull of sorts but it's a bit more special than that.
