There's a lot of rubbish in this thread, new players might get the wrong idea.

Sensible tips, many I've learned from watching players and trying to learn their tactics:

- learn to use keybinds, with enough patience you can bind every BO ability to the space-bar.

- if you have trouble in PvP, make sure the difficulty slider is set to normal - a lot of people forget that, don't be a noob!

- watch out for cloaked ships. The cloaking system in this game leaves an outline of the ship, but the shader used for ship shields makes it hard to see the outlines. Drop shield power to zero, and focus on an area of space and then you can often make them out.

- always shoot the biggest ships first. The larger ships take more resources to produce, removing them creates a drain, slowing down your opponents respawn rate.

- spread your fire around. Everyone focusing one ship lets the others slip away, it makes more sense for everyone to pick their own target and kill it separately.

- obviously, etiquette is important. The polite way to end a match is "___ u, u bunch of ___, u'll get nerfed" or "lrn2play u noobs" etc.

Don't forget to call your opponents Hackers, it's a sign of respect in the pvp community.

Don't forget to put 4 pieces of heavy armor in your cruiser, find an object to keep your 'A' or 'D' key mashed and set your speed to 1/2 impulse so you can go afk and get some housework done

Also, remember to solo charge an entire Klink ball then complain how they're OP cause you can't 1v5 them.

I would suggest botanical performance enhancers before, during and after PvP to boost one's abilities, but that would lessen the local availibilty for me, so alternatives may be needed.
After your relaxed and feeling loose, remember to;

1) use teamwork
2) research keybinding to help with your pvp.
3) always pass left as it keeps rotation steady.
4) Heal each other constantly.
5) play to your individual strengths.
6) stop before it gets too small and burns your lips.
7) Talk to each other, iether by chat or teamspeak ( or other such software)
8) always make sure your skills are properly spent to inforce your playstyle.
9) have fun damnit, its just a game.

Don't forget:
1) RSP is key to victory, the more copies the better.
2) Use lots of weapon types, because rainbow colors confuse your opponents.
3) In arena, be sure to got to full impulse immediately to scout out the enemy, especially if you can't cloak.
4) Stay more than 10 km away from your teammates, in case they blow up.

n00bs and h4x are common forms of greetings, that is true.

if you dont get it, then you can get away with such phrases as:

wtf? this nub is way OP
Nice try. but wait until the next balance patch when your ships aren't OP anymore. show us yous skillz then
I may suck, but apparently not as good as your mother

and a few more
