With the idea of crafting specialties being tossed around, i don't think we should overlook the chance to differentiate the classes of STO a bit more. Perhaps Tacs would automatically specialize in weapons, Sci's in energy fields, and Engineers in equipment. It would start the process of making that class choice hold meaning.

Classes are so last century.
Get rid of classes altogether and let your choice in skills determine what you are.
