# 1 Science Ships Cloak Detection

So what ever happened to that? I'm a VA science captain in a science ship and my cloak detection stat is still 0

Yeah, detecting Cloads is important stuff. Dangerous things, those Cloads. Did you mean Cloak?

I think the stat part is broken, it does work though. Myself and a friend did some tests;

With my Klingon Cloak strenth of 4900 moving at 1/2 impluse, his sci ship could see me & fire at me from 5km.
At 1/4 impluse he could see me at 2.5km

When I put more power into Aux and improved my cloak it made a slight change and at 1/2impulse it was 4km and 1/4 was 2km.

When he dumpped powe into Aux and improved his sensors he improved his detection range.


The thing you have to watch out for is, to be really good at detecting cloaked ships you need 100 Aux power and a really high sensor strenth, but that kind of leaves you as a "one trick pony", but then again for a Klingon wanting to be mega stealth its the same for them - fire power or be able to sneak about.

hmm interesting thanks. I can say that I have never detected a cloaked ship :p
