Fair enough.

My point was simply that he's always a couple of days late with these announcements. It seems kinda silly to post something several days after we've already been talking about it and then calling it 'news.'

Oh well. At least the links he posts work now.

It is news (as far as the main website is concerned). Also, realize that people interesting in STO (but not yet subscribed to it) still vilit te main site; and may the news, link, and podcast interesting IF they are still deciding that they want to try the game. Finally, not everyone (subscribed player or otherwise) who visits the main STO site, doesn't neccessarily visit/read/post the STO forums.

As to why it's on the Forums? ANY newlinks on the main site have always been posted on the Announcement Form since before closed or open beta.

I personally make a thread whenever we put out a new episode, dev or not

Since there was a dev interview, PR and Marketing like to post it up on the front page. Sometimes it gets up on Friday when the new episode comes out and sometimes they are busy and post it up on the following Monday.
