I just don't see what all the fuss is about. Really a few perks and suddenly people are ready to throw in the towel... it NEVER fails.

Escorts get nerfed = people stoped doing escorts for awhile
Subnucleonic beam/viral matrix gets nerfed = far less sci caps for awhile
Carriers get buffed to the 9s = EVERYONE (Fed) complains, people gripe and suddenly wont fight carriers, for awhile
Now this...

At least the carriers were a semi-legitimate thing to be concearned about due to the fact that 1 on 1 no fed ship could top it... but this is just complaining for complainings sake. EVERYONE has access to these new sets, and yes EVERYONE will most likely have peices to them.

Will this ruin PvP? Not likely, as everyone loves to have an advantage against fellow players...

"Hey, look! They just released a super mega KILL GUN! We should get one!"
"No no no... it will unbalance PvP, I refuse to use it till it's nerfed"
"Ummm, have you even tried it?"
"I don't have to... it's a super mega kill gun... of COURSE it will unbalance everything!"
"Uhh... even if everyone has one?"
"I won't have one, because I refuse to unbalance PvP! DUH!"

I just got through doing my dalies with my cruiser cap... saw one aegis set on my team, and one borg set on a Klingon Vorcha refit... Well, honestly I didn't see that much difference in the damage/healing stats. The Vorcha wasn't unstoppable, nobody panicked and targeted him first. We played a normal PvP match and won 12-15. The borged up Vorcha went down 3 times. Not unkillable, nor overpowered.

Can we PLEASE just let the chips fall where they may, before we throw up a huge banner that says 'NERF NERF NERF'? I would like the chance to play with these new things before they become useless. Besides, you HAVE to be either a MASTER crafter (And probably wealthy beyond anyones wildest dreams), or complete all the STFs which is insanely difficult, as anyone that has finished them will tell you. So they are supposed to be WORTH it. Lets just see where this goes before we cry NERF, shall we?

Playing today... ran into lots of Aegis powered ships. Zero issues. Most cruisers still pop like candy. It makes some ships a bit more tanky. The ONLY ship type that is hurt by this are ones that try to win by using Damage Over time tactics. Those tactics have been nerfed... thank god. Pull your escorts out of the garage and shine em up with some Armour All and a little Aegis action.

Neghy with 10 stacks on it from the set ... still died just the same. Maybe just a second or two later than it usually would.

Not bothered to get the set yet, but i hear that the proc adds a resist buff and is not a shield heal as such. While i have witnessed some crusiers benefit from this free stacking (players not set up to pvp) the majority already run continuous high resists so will not gain much if anything from the proc outside of instant resist return after an snb.

Escorts on the other hand with only one lt engi and one lt sci station and either one or non ensign station have had to either run low to mid resists, heals, or PH if not running omega, or omega is on cooldown a lot of needs to fill with so few slots. With this new set escoret pilots will be able to maintain much better average resists for a longer period of time. Time enough for even a poor player to deliver some damage before he goes boom.

Amen to this!

The new sets make the lesser experiencer PvP'er more robust in survival it seems, but not to the point of unbalancing game play. It also seems that the more experienced players are not seeing any unbalancing effects or uber-survival when they use them.

Not going to say the set is ruining PVP, but I will say that the set was not tested and balanced properly in a PVP environment before it was implemented into the game.

Only time will tell if the sets are truelly going to be unbalanced. In the first week of thier release all we will see is overreactions and underreactions (mine) to thier use for the time being.
