Does this include cannons? They seem to use energy type attacks and are boosted by speccing into energy weapons if memory serves.

I'm curious if Plamodic Leech Console works with them...

Turrets are energy weapons also. A console that boosts energy weapons will work with anything but torpedoes and mines. Once activated, it will work with the next energy weapon that you fire.
