Still a bug and I can't believe it still hasn't been taken care of.

I have done this mission a few times, and have always answered the Hail of the Kang, and then finished of the Asteroid, and have never had it hang up with me.

Could the problem just be doing the mission Out of Step?

So yeah, this bug still exists.

I'm sure someone else has already bugged it, but I wrote up a new bug anyway.

Bug still exists , It happened to me today I made a post, so the devs can see it's still happening.
If they adjusted the code so the game shows both Destroy Asteroid and Disable I.K.S. Kang in the objectives box, rather than than what it has at the moment, this problem would no longer exists.

Yep, Seconded.

Problem still exists. Am not redoing the mission. It's bad enough I'm getting almost no reward for the mission because I'm already a Captain 6, but this gives me even less incentive to complete it.

Please fix, Devs.

I just finished this mission two days ago as well on one of my alternate characters. I agree that it may just be that you're destroying the asteroid before the mission updates to include it as an objective, as I've done the hail, gotten into the fight, destroyed the asteroid, and nothing has happened to wreck the mission. In fact, this would mark the 3rd time I've done this mission with as many characters, and I've never had this issue with any of them.

Yes this is exactly the bug; doing the objective before it's actually an objective. The scripting for that mission needs to be addressed so you either shouldn't be able to destroy it out of order or they need to amend the logic to allow you to do so without breaking your progression.

The problem is that if you're really uh, hauling arse, you'll basically stay in combat the whole time (condition red) which has a tendency to dismiss incoming hails (e.g. defeat the escorts, continue mashing space bar to target the asteroid as fast as possible since the mission dialog instills a sense of urgency -> hail comes in but is dismissed because you're firing weapons).

Correct. The Mars Mission works that way. You can shoot the Task Force ships, but you can not kill them until after the 3 Satellites are disabled.

This Mission should be written to work the same way.
