Has PvP gotten so bad that people on the winning in a PvP match, telling people on the losing side to kill themselves in the real world?

This is really terrible especially its still the Christmas season, you know "good will towards men".

At times like this, I wish Cryptic just take out zone chat and put in factional chat during PvP matches.

It's ******, sure, but if someone has a problem with it they can use existing features to ignore the mean bad words. Cryptic can't hold everyone's hands forever. Eventually they are going to have to learn to do something on their own.

While talk like that is neither cool nor funny, there is always the /ignore command.

Zone chat should stay, because we don't want to ruin the fun left in PvP's current state by removing the fun smack talk.

If you haven't yet tried talking smack to your enemies while playing a real intense fight, you are missing out on all the fun.

Of course I use VoIP to do my smack talking on other games, which is far more fun.l than keyboarding it

Really there is hardly any positive comments in PvP except "GG" or "GJ", which is pretty empty comments when the other side got beat so bad that they be feeling it for weaks.

But we really don't need people like this individual ruining it for the rest of us. Say it to the wrong person and something does happen, STO could very well be shut down or Cryptic is forced to remove of PvP altogether. Sure most will most on to another game, but Trekkies lose out big time.

So if you honestly don't care, then it really shows how bad the community is in STO.

LOL I have to admit, that I have done my fair share of 'trash talk' after a PvP match. Lately on my RA upper Engie Cruiser alt... the match goes something like this:

Klingon side: 15 kills
BoP: 180k dmg 70k heal
Raptor: 220k dmg 70k heal
Cruiser: 120k dmg 120k heal

Fed side: 8 kills
Escort: 200k dmg 75k heal
Science: 80k dmg 130k heal
Cruiser: 75k dmg 190k heal
Me: 230K dmg 300k heal

Me: So uhh, was I the only one on my team doing anything usefull?

or something like:

Me: I did the MOST damage?!?! I am an engineer in a cruiser!!! Klingons, hang your ridged heads in shame!!!

To these playful comments, I usually receive several LESS than savory rebukes. Most of them censored so it sounds like an Eminem song on the radio. LOL "******* ***** SHUT THE **** UP YOU ****** *******, YOU STILL LOST ******!!!" and then there is the comments from my teammates... I think THAT tapestry of obscenities is still in orbit somewhere over lake Michagan. LOL

It's an added PvP element - psychological warfare.

Since you were so emotional and distraught about text during PvP that it caused you to created a thread - it stands to reason that your future encounters vs. them will leave you at a mental or emotional disadvantage.

The ignore feature is your friend.
