# 1 Cryptic fix the team levels!

I'm playing as a fed tac officer and I consistently see the top 4 feds on one team against the lowest ranking feds on the other. For example: 3 rear-admiral 1s and a rear-admiral 3 vs. 2 rear-admiral 10s and a rear-admiral 6 and 7.

C'mon cyrptic, we were all queued up for fed v fed pvp. Neither team was in a group before the game. So why do you keep putting the higher level players against the lower level players? It just turns out as a massacre every time.

Now, I've been on both sides of the level imbalance. I've had teams where no one's shields even drop while the other team might as well not have shields. It wasn't due to playing ability: there were experienced players on both sides of the matches. The problem is that the higher-level team always has an almost insurmountable advantage (I say almost because i have played against players who screw up those extra skill points, and get taken down easily).

This advantage wouldn't be hard to fix, just stop assigning teams top-down. If it's fed v fed, there should be no problem with re-arranging the teams to even out levels.

There are very little difference between RALH1 and RAUH5 equipment.. The two parts that make a real differnce there are the +35% shield console and the Borg Console.

Its nothing that makes it impossible to compete though.. Ive had many fights at LtC1, Cmdr1, Capt1 and RALH1 where I ended up with either most damage or healing..

Just a question of experience really.

Post your build, and Im sure youll get a lot of advice regarding your build, worst thing you can do is really to blame the que for it though.

it wasn't the difference in equipment that made the difference. I have a very nice pvp build, and practically all i do is pvp. So don't say I dont know what i'm doing.

Second, that was an example match. I just don't see why all the high level players have to be on the same team all the time. It serves no purpose but to stack the teams.

And yes, experience can help; but it can only go so far. If your entire team has a disadvantage, the other team will slowly win out if skill levels are reasonably similar.

It is only if the lower-level team gets lucky or is much more skilled that they can pull off a victory, and then usually at a high price.


Edit: I am not complaining about being destroyed so easily; I am just tired of the only two modes of play I see: practical invincibility in my escort, or easy destruction before i fire a shot. I just want to balance the pvp a little, instead of waiting to VA for same-level opponents

Are you fighting against premades or semi-mades?
or are you pugging?

Btw it always the same levels, only grades are different.

grades, right, sorry misused the word.

this happens all over pvp, whether i am playing a premade, or pugging. It doesn't happen at VA, because everyone is the same "grade"; however at, say, commander level you have ridiculously unbalanced teams. I am really only talking about fed v fed, because any restrictions on fvk would make it impossible. What i'm talking about would not put any restriction on fed v fed players; all it would do is change the way teams are formed

The only difference in grades I can see would be the difference in SP spent and possibly the higher grades of equipment belonging to some players whom had simply played longer and stockpiled more as they leveled up through the grades.
Having played through like everyone else, I never noticed a "ridiculously unbalanced" teaming problem based strictly on the grade differences. I always put it down to better skill selection, power choice or better equipment, not to mention experience of the players involved.

So what would your plan be?
If you have PvP also sorted by Grades within the ranks? Unless its a grade for grade match some players will still feel things are unbalanced and if done grade to grade macthing then others will find that they never have anyone to pvp against due to the pvp players being spread too thin leading to decided lack of participation.

Well i have a lot less ability than you then but as i lvl'd up my most recent character i found hitting a new tier made absolutely no differnece, i found the fed side still won regardless in nearly all games, players +5 to +10 lvls higher still died as they should and the extra few points in skills, marginally better gear has nothing to do with it, while i paid no great attention to the lvls of each side i must have suffered the same issue as you, otherwise it wouldn't be an issue would it.

Even at VA lvl i still only have green MkX gear on my fed sci, with a set of blue sci consoles and some two piece set and i can't say i have found myself to be gimped by this fact.

I am however going to say i do not believe you are as competent as you imagine and you are simply not good enough to dismiss comments that sugest you might need to adjust with a wave of your hand and an 'i know what i am doing comment, i pvp a lot' as clearly the post indicats you hardly have any clue at all.
