Do NOT expect this game to be anything even remotely close to Canon Star Trek. If you do you will be sorely disappointed.
Single ships able to solo a borg cube. Prometheus class ships classed as an escort (it's a war ship in Canon). Instant hull heals ( you couldn't even do that with replicators) Plasma clinging to your hull and burning in space (flat contradicts TNG's episode explaining how to put out a plasma fire) and many more.
So if you are looking for a True Star Trek experience look somewhere else you won't find it here.
If you are looking for something that kind of resembles Star Trek and have no problem with even the theoretical laws of the series being broken 10 ways from Sunday then by all means play STO you should have a blast.
You forgot to mention..........it's a game based off of Star Trek (not Star Trek itself)
One could not even begin to point out the many inconsistancies with the true actual Star Trek Canon you speak of to begin with, let alone a game meant for entertainment purposes. And since CBS owns the IP of Star Trek, they are more to blame for whats in the game to begin with.....because they own it. Hence they can twist any version of percieved canon as they wish when they let cryptic throw it in game. Need I remind you CBS also has to approve anything Cryptic creates before it can be added to game.
Hence forth CBS has full control of content meaning since they own it.......all of it, (when you think about it) it can be considered canon from that point forward.
unless your just trying to give people a reason not to try the game........in which case I say for shame....(shakes finger in loose fashion)
Your wisdom escapes me oh holy one........yet it is still wisdom.......
Bite me... I'll bite back? *wink wink*
But thats the end of it.
1: OP gets beaten in PvP in an Advanced Escort.
2: Blames it on the ship not being a 100% copy of the one in the shows.
3: Still got cannons on it even if it isn't canon.
5: Cupcakes for everyone!
