Yeah i'd love STO to follow the shows more closely, that way i could sit back and enjoy the four days of playtime i'd waste getting to Vulcan at warp 9. Course if i get impatient i could always amp it up to warp 10 and reach Vulcan as a water Pokemon. Wow that game would be awesome!

What's canon?

We are the Voyager. We are able to one-shot three Borg cubes in one battle. We are canon.

An escort is a type of warship.

I guess you would rather wait 4 hours after a difficult battle so the warp engines can be repaired and you can warp away (it will only take 2 hours if you have Scotty as a chief engineer).

It's a visual indicator that there's plasma fire damaging that ship just like the engines glow when on evasive maneuvers.

Good luck finding something better. You will find it nowhere.

Star Trek has broken its own laws often enough, and I'm having a blast. Thanks.

My bad. Its Monday, home PC is dead and I'm a little grumpy. Sorry for the over-reaction.

Though the OP should be happy, being a Klingon my over-reaction is very canon.:p

Canon(or Cannon) = historical star trek laws. follow them, know them, let it rule ur life.
but this game takes place in a another reality, or such crap...so cannon no not applies.

good post.
And a plasma fire could be better seen in space because the density of normal atmosphere could be too high. Depends also on the gas. As example: When you would have a gas source and a selfpreserving e/m field or some sci/fi stuff you could see a nice plasma flame in space...
The sun or the northern lights are nothing different....

Cannon = big gun
Canon = rules, laws, teachings

Don't forget the main reason true Trek fans shouldn't play, the fourth window from the left on the seventh deck of the Galaxy primary hull is four feet right of where it is supposed to be.

Ummm it is television?

Television things aren't real.

This is a video game.

Video game things aren't real either.

Your complaints are no different than a book being turned into a movie. There will always be things different if the director has a different vision on how things should be.

*Sigh* I know exactly what you mean. Boy do I ever.

Take a look at the date on that post.

Ya... There's nothing wrong with relating to Canon, as long as you keep in mind that this is first and foremost a game, designed to entertain people and make a bunch of money in the process.... (in fact the bunch of money should probably have come first).

If the game should be like canon, all i'd had to do was create a dark-skin human captain, have a Klingon male, Trill female, Bajoran female, human male and a Male augment, fly the Defiant Class and NONE of you would be able to beat me... EVER...
