haha every single player will eventually be useing the exact same equipment on their ships. its lame and boreing and lacking in thought and planning.

Except that's not entirely true. Some people do disable the visuals on certain parts. While not Borg parts, on my ship I tend to disable the Aegis deflector and engine visuals because I think they just look bizzare on a starship, leaving me with the cool Tron lights from the shields. If I were to use the Borg set I'd either keep it all, or disable everything (except for maybe the shields). Different ship captains can feel free to mix and match their look for aesthetic purposes, or possibly to hide what they truly have equipped to other captains. (Though the observant ones will either still know right away, or catch on fast, due to what passive/activated buffs are on the target)

allow fleets to construct space stations in the neutral zone. but you cant do that because the whole galaxy map looks feels and acts like a giant restrictive shoe box with limited space.

What you say is already being worked on. This has been mentioned a number of times in things like Ask Cryptic. Player run stations is something the Devs are aware players want and it will be done eventually. -When- is another issue, as it's not very Trek for Admirals and Captains to have their own stations. Not saying that on those grounds I object it, I do not, but just saying it is not their first priority. Do not expect it soon.

qoute - eve-online space doesnt feel confining!
the game feels too restrictive and too small for what its name is implying.

I have to disagree. I think the game is wonderfully expansive. Maybe not as many sectors of space to explore as EVE, but I think after a year of STO being out it has more plot lines and stories then EVE does now. You seem to want to play EVE Online, you want a total Sandbox game. And while Sandbox is fairly popular, if you want a game that is 99% Sandbox you're barking up the wrong tree. STO will be adding more stabilizability, more interactivity. As someone who's watched it grow since Closed Beta I can say the progress has been admittedly jerky in places but none the less astounding. You can't expect this to have the same things as a game that has been out for coming up on 9 years now. You can however appreciate STO for it's strengths. Or don't, your call.
