I tried. The starbaseugc site and its wiki have failed me. I just can't find what I'm supposed to put in dialog to have it reference the player ship. This whole foundry thing needs a tutorial.. Preferably one that doesn't just link to a youtube video or describe concepts that get me no closer to completion (can't view youtube right now, been that way for a couple of years- brother had to go and get it blocked on the family filter).

More questions later. Seriously. This thing needs a guide that I don't have to skim through for the important details.

Thanks Nagus. I added this to our Foundry Definitions page for quick reference.

OP, sorry that you can't view youtube. Hopefully this is useful: http://starbaseugc.com/index.php/foundry-definitions/

How does ShipType work, considering most people kitbash their ships?

I wonder if it actually just gives the broad category type, e.g. Advanced Heavy Cruiser, or Exploration Cruiser instead of an actual ship class name like Galaxy.

I assume it would be whatever the base ship is(you have to have 1 of the 3 selected, even if you start changing the parts).

I'm like 90% sure this is how it works exactly. Using [shiptype] won't give the individual ship class.
