First off, it does the opening movie and when the movie is over it signs me out saying it cannot transfer my character, so i bought the game and a game card and cant play it now? also, i cant be a klingon, it says that feature is not unlocked yet.

Have you tried deleting and recreating your character? Tried using Force Verify or Safe Mode in the Launcher options? Checked to make sure that your video settings are at defaults?

Klingons are unlocked after your first Federation character reaches level 6 or so. You have to level at least one Fed first.
