I think they schedule these things as needed. Not when people have holidays. People everywhere in the world play this game so the Dev team shouldn't have to rearange their schedule just because people in the US have the day off. It could lead to someone somewhere else having to suffer on their day off.

In news on the launcher it said :
"Maintenance will take no longer than 5 hours. We apologize for the inconvenience"

..... 5 hours passed ...

N1 - About to think why i spend my money on this ...
Alot of hours a month goes to maintenance.

I understand that the servers need maintenance.
I can live with STO server maintenence.

But all of a sudden its "Atari Maintenance" ... "Cryptic Maintenance" ...

Next will be "Your PC maintenance" ?? o.O

Yep, but large business can have communications issues inside themselves, let alone communications issues to a subsidiary or whatever Cryptic is to Atari. You could say that it is just as easy for Cryptic to give us the information, though they haven't. I was just trying to give Cryptic some leeway, since I could easily see this as what is going on.

The worst thing about MMO's...have no concept of quasi holidays.

WHo the Frack does mantienance when 75% of the people are off. Bad customer policy as usual.

Do your sinking matienance at 2 am on a Wednesday when no one is around.
