I'm working on a fun little mission called Shore Leave with Sori. It is almost done, but I need a little help. Here is where I am having trouble. I need two songs that would be considered timeless or classic in the 24th century. The songs will be used in a group karoke (1) and sing-a-long (2) type scenarios. I was thinking of maybe "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" for the sing-a-long portion as an homage to ( Star Trek V - The Final Frontier ). But, even so ... I have no clue what to select for the karoke part of the evening. What do you guys think? Got any ideas for either song?

I was thinking something like this:
The character singing the song comes up and starts singing "Happy Birthday to You"... it is quite timeless, I think. However, the character sings "Happy Birthday... Mr President", and when the song ends NPC's around ask why "Mr President", and the character claims "I've seen it in some old 20th century movie" and everyone responds with "Oooooooooh!" and "Aaaahhhhhhhh!"
and there are a number of classical music references strung through-out TNG as the crew expanded their depth to include "hobbies"...
In the broader sense - any melody that has survived a couple hundred years or more in our time will likely continue to be reused into "their time"...even if the words and instruments are altered. There are plenty of examples of modern artists mining all manner of music that continues to resonate.
