The club is a great addition, but I can't help but wonder if it will actually be used when it moves to the live servers.
Unless ESD isn't going to be seperated by instances anymore, it'll still be nearly impossible to find, or keep a version of the club staffed with players looking to socialize and RP, since there will be no reliable way for them to get together.
Unfortunately, I didn't see anything to indicate that the club is actually going to be accessible to players wanting to socialize. So it still has the same basic problem that the old club had. Maybe I missed something, though?
If the instancing is still in effect on ESD, the better thing to do would be to make a "recreational deck" that can be accessed, that takes you to a separate map that has all the socializing features.
It would be fine if that area was instanced, then, so long as the player cap wasn't as obscenely low as it is on Champions, since players could switch between instances without having to worry about zoning into a "dead" instance when it comes to socializing.
It would also probably make it a bit easier to expand that area to allow for things like holodecks if they get put in, in the future.
"Lt. Walters to Admiral Quinn, sir The club is on FIRE!!!!"
"Lt. stop using the intercom for your raves."
"No sir, you don't understand, the new DJ is a Horta"
"Fire Control, this is Admiral Quinn, quarantine Club 47 and begin conflagration procedures"
