WHOA!

As a European player I would prefer never to see a USA/European split. Most of my fleet members are in the US. While I like PvE and PvP a good portion of my play time is socialising with my fleet or doing STFs

If a server split happened I would have to find/create a new fleet and lose a good portion of the (online) friends I've made and that would seriously dent my gaming experience too the point of killing it.

I can live a 7 hour down time. I'm at work and its not on the weekend. I would struggle to live with a server split.

Well sorry but not every one works 9-5 or during the day, i am paying for a service i dont get to use due to maintenece/patches etc

This is not just a one off this is at least once a week every week over the course of a month or 30 days time how ever you pay the amount of time lost to european plays is far more than the USA

I'd actually be interested to see what traiding standards have to say about paying for 30 days of service which you dont recive, how ever i'm sure it will be some small paragrah in very small writting in the terms an conditions so crypitc can flease its customers an get away with it

Eight hour work day. Eight of sleep. Maybe some people have 16+ free hours a day where they can shove stuff around their schedule at their leisure, but most don't. Some of those people may have wanted to take part in the "anniversary celebrations" on the actual anniversary, yet they won't be able to thanks to the length of this downtime.

Is missing out on the anniversary the end of the world? No, but it's certainly reasonable for some people to be upset about it.
The event is a week long, surely you can find some play time in there. What MMO would have a 1 day anniversary event?

Down time is going to happen. I'd rather have a working game rather than a game that is constantly down. This is nothing compared to what this was like during open Beta or the very first few months of the game. Yes, I would like to be playing too, but I have to wait like everyone else. Until then play on tribble or do something else.

It has to transfer the files from the Tribble folder to the Holodeck folder, as well as write revisions to those files.

couldnt agree more. As a monthly UK subscriber the amount of downtime we face is stupid.

i appreciate that we cant all be pleased but as i get no refund for the lack of play which is usually 24hrs+ a month it is out of order.

i left the game for 6 months and i can now remember why.

its a great game and a shame that the schedule isn't more accomodating to european players.

Agreed, but did they really have to do it on the snow day of the century? Half of the US is off of work today. Couldn't someone at Cryptic have checked the news and said "hmmm... you know maybe we should wait till tomorrow..."

I am EU player too, and it is ok, with me, 7 hours of downtime. At least they will get enough time to patch it properly and repair it , in case something unpredictable happens.

Great job Cryptic, wish the best.
