In the ST3 Notes, ESD was supposed to be like 3.8km in diameter.

It certainly isnt that big now, judging by the reliable 685m length of sovereign class ships parked next to it.

Additionally as I recall, ESD should be perpendicular to the surface of the planet as opposed to what it is now.

But come on are we really just nitpicking?

As regards to scale, i.e. ships visually too small to enter, then thats the only issue I agree with. But reducing the amount of people in ESD? I think not. The Sol system will be reworked when they have the technology developed to do it the way they wish it to be.

What I see is ESD, Earth and Luna (the Moon) scaled well in relation to one another. The view when we arrive has a sense of depth that was lacking previously. Better light/shadow and less clutter from all the exterior spacedocks went a long way toward a better tone.

IMO, the entire scene need only be scaled up when the mapping/tech exists for our ships to go all the way inside. We were told on Tribble that this wouldn't be the case yet. I'm also recalling a Dev suggestion of having ideas about how to accomplish this. Nothing more than that. I look forward to seeing the ideas become a reality for the game.

1. i think the shuttles could use a downsize.
2. the new esd is great, but it could use an upsize by a few notches. just dont go crazy with it..
3. the moon does seem out of place.

i am sure the Dev's played arround with the scale and decided that was the best size.

yet if the Galaxy Saucer doesn't fit, that would be stupid. ...it could allways fly a little sideways though ;P

I think an increase of double would be enough. And quite frankly, The Captains table needs to be accessable through a strange wooden door in some little-used corner of the station, not at all from some odd floating singularity.

no need that Borg Cubes fit through these doors.

if at all then x1.1 or x1.2 the size it is now.

finally a proper scaled Station and you people say it's to small.

why not make it 3 times as big as EARTH?

doh...

I think its fine. The problem is with the perspective and camera angles/zooms people are playing with. In the show, the camera only shows us what the producers want us to see, not in STO though.
