It seems thats all anyone does anymore is just spam away the match with Chroniton or Tricobolt mines with their friends and Science officers with CPB, PSW, and Gravity Well.
I see where you are coming from, tbh the amount of mine and npc spam is more then annoying. Maybe ground pvp ... until we get a breen drone layer drone

To the l2p crowd: How are mines and carrier pets "more trek"

End of rant

Long time ago since I used TR/ES the last time so I'm not sure if multiple energy drains of the same kind stack. But with the BTSX you are right only the highest counts.

sci powers in isolation are a bit naff tbh, even SS, if you only have one every 45s you really arn't going to be bothererd by it.

However when you decide to use a sci tactic to gain the upper hand just go for it, no half measures. Sci is all or nothing as far as i am concerned.

One player using TBR is pointless, a team like LF/FSI using it almost constantly is a right royal pain in the arse and will result in kills eventually by forcing heals to be used just to remove the constant hull damage even before teh spike arrives.

QEW's preferred tactic was overwhelming stuns and difficult to counter, TSI/SW used overwhelming confusions reducing reaction times to allow escorts the extra few seconds to get the kill, which both these builds did and both worked well.

You need to pick an area you want to target with sci, whether that is direct heals, or sci teams to target team usage to attempt ot deny the use of heals etc then try to overwhelm the team with it to create opportunities to kill players. Once you achieve the point where the other team is pushed beyond its ability to respond to the sci assault you have created a window of opportunity for the tacticals to exploit with their damage.

simplz

oh and no not FBP or TBR either, those have been done already

Same deal with FAW really.. It doesnt "spike" like a good old BOL/CRF/HYT combo, but it provides constant decent DPS.. Eventually itll run the opponents out of heals, at which point the "bad" players usually run (which is a bad idea against FAW)..

What is more lethal than a Fed team running FAW and TBR, is a KDF team using atleast 2 BOPs with TBR3 and FAW3.

Unfortunately spamming NPC's goes way back in pvp.

Yes its annoying but given that hard canon/soft canon doesn't cover as much outside of federation knowledge as one may think, its up to the Devs to fill in the missing pieces for those factions that need more fleshing out.
KDF got a carrier, its been "down-buffed" now so everything will be fine.

Variety is the spice of life, and the spice must flow.

Mine spamming is not tactical nearly as much as it is lazy. That said, I pop an engine battery when hit with chroniton mines.

I agree with the OP, but he's also forgetting photonic fleet with all the other spam. Photonic fleet is the silliest one of all, in my opinion.

I just came off a PVP run and the last 5 matches were me in a pug (my fleet must be in bed) and the same premade again and again. I suggested after the second steamroll filled with mine/photonic fleet spam and shockwave/ sinkhole crap that they breakup their premade and pit against eachother for more fun matches. Their reaction was to tell me to "learn better tactics" and "stop crying" and "let the big boys play". Apparently it has nothing to do with being a pug vs premade and everything to do with me sucking...

Silly. They weren't even that good of a premade since we could still get a few kills in each match.

I don't know what to do with FvK anymore. BOPs stay cloaked so we start firing on the carriers then decloak and 1 shot a player before you can react then move on to the next. You want to talk about repetition there?

The only stimulating variety I find is in Ker'rat. So much fun can still be had there on both sides. Whether it be the free for all at the beginning or organized duels at the cracked planet or the surprise attack while you're completing the objective, its all variety and mostly fun.

Shame its the only open PVP world; there's so many good potential scenarios they could do. Allowing klink players in starbase 12 would be a good start. What a blast that would be.

There's another option: Advocate that cryptic undo the CSV nerf so we can obliterate mines AND ships. Since we are more pew pew and thus more squishy, we need to be effective. Escorts needs some love.
