Do any of the anti-cloak / cloak-detection abilities actually counter Scimitars or do they just cheat all around?

It's possible, but so difficult it might aswell be impossible.

I've managed to detect Dontara's cloak in my bird of prey using sensor scan and max aux while using aceton assimilators and energy siphon drones (From an allied carrier) to reduce her auxilury power to zero, which should drop her cloak, but doesn't. I was able to detect and fire on her ship at approximately .01 kilometers, but if we were any further away than scratching paint, I'd lose sight of her, despite knowing where she was.

If I could blind-fire my weapons it'd be trivially easy. So we just settle for dumping warp plasma over her incredibly-obvious position and trolling the AI as it flounders around while cloaked, unable to turn effectively.

(Note, skills that auto-decloak enemies they effect, like gravwells, charged particle burst, vent warp plasma/theta radiation are completely ineffective and do not decloak scimitars, but will hit for their rather pathetic damage.)
