similar to how you can have your power distribution presets, it would be nice to be able to have more direct control over how power is distributed to the shields. if i'm in a tactical ship, and my forward shields are getting battered all the time, it's a little bit of a hassle to hit the "reroute power to forward shields" button all the time. it would be nice to have a little slider scale like the power scheme has to specify how much power the forward, aft, left and right shields have at any given time...

another thought though, would be to make this in ADDITION to the current setup... that way in an emergency, say a ship de cloaks to the left and nails my 10% preset shield there, i can hit the over-ride and put all shields there to compensate.

You could always bind "+power_exec reroute_shields_forward " to your fire button

that's not a bad idea ... kinda like a scotty-style modification. but not as ideal as having a system in place designed to do it in an erganomic way. other class ships wouldn't want that, and in some instances it could really hurt. cause if i'm taking damage from more than one side, being in a fight is not the time to fool around with unbinding the key so i can put shields elsewhere.

but lets take cruisers for example. because i actually have a cruiser and was just using escorts as an example. i'd love to put the majority of my shields to the sides because i do a lot of broad-side attacks with beam arrays.
